Got my TX Former MV tag today. Easy!

I didn't even know you could get an SF97 for a trailer. Or that you could register it as an FMV.

11.00 air psi, up or down?

I was wondering what those tires were.

100th annv Boy Scout Parade Austin Texas

Yep, that was a BLAST. Sadly, I didn't get to see much of the parade as I somehow got 4th place in line! Here's a few pics from my camera.

Fined for running WMO (not me)

I sure hope they contested the fine. A fine for running untaxed fuel on your own property? Jeez.

    Zinc and phosporous in WMO?

I think the problem with that is that the zinc and phosphorous is in solution in the WMO. Not merely physically mixed. So a centrifuge won't separate them.

Fined for running WMO (not me)

Has anyone here ever been pulled over in their deuce and had their fuel tested? Just doesn't seem like that big of a risk.

    Zinc and phosporous in WMO?

Cool, thanks. I'll give it a shot.

    Zinc and phosporous in WMO?

I've been told that running WMO in a deuce isn't the best thing for the injectors due to the zinc and phosphorous found in motor oil that won't burn up. How bad of a problem is this? Is there a way to mitigate this problem? Say, only run WMO/Gas mixture in every other tank and run the diesel...

    Deuce License Plate Light??

If you register it as a Former Military Vehicle, you don't have to. But you can get one if you want.

    Mutilation?

I've seen a bunch of aluminum scrap lots with perfectly usable 80/20 extrusions. All mutilation required. *sigh* John Keynes is having a perpetual orgasm in **** and Milton Friedman's grave just might violate the first law of thermodynamics.

Am I even registered? Dumb registration question

Thanks. Still curious why they gave my friend a sticker but didn't give me one, tho. Is it at the various counties' discretion?

    Too fat to fit

Probably have brakeless forklift fork marks, tho. And if you complain, chester will just tell you to suck it up and spray some krylon on it.

    Brake wheel cylinder AH HA!

This. A wheel cylinder rebuild takes about 10 or 15 minutes. Not hard at all.

Am I even registered? Dumb registration question

I went the former military vehicle registration route a few months ago. Paid a bunch of "fees" got a plate in the mail 3 weeks later. Well now a friend of mine just went the same route, but he got a registration sticker with his paperwork and a plate. Was I supposed to get a registration...

What transmission does my 1009 have?

I ordered the "definitive" book on how to do the rebuild as recommended by a few people around here. Should get here sometime between the 25th and the 10th of next month. Amazon slowboat shipping. I was thinking more along the lines of buying a used junkyard take-off and installing it to...

What transmission does my 1009 have?

I cannot say at the moment . I flat towed it over to a friend's house who has a big automotive lift. Don't even know what a modulator is.

What transmission does my 1009 have?

I just got my 1009 from Minot with the transmission in the back. It's "bad" according to the yellow grease pencil diagnosis written on it. Well, I showed it to a friend and he said "that's a 700r4." He seemed pretty sure. I thought they were all TH-400s? What's the deal? What are my...

    Just won a M1010

You could have been lucky like me and had the drive shaft safely inside the back.
