I believe the A3 trailer axles were widened to match the Humvee and the center section was raised for ground clearance. The m101A2 trailers matched the CUCV blazers and Pick ups. I like the taper you have planned for the deck.
Civilian 8 on 6.5 pattern rims with lower profile tires will drop the height.Sell the Hummer wheels and bed and more than douple your return.Looking forward to seeing your design. My 101A2 : http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/63713-Just-purchased-a-Military-trailer-to-build-a-family-hauler
R&P 6 bolt hubs run 25.00 each. "They match the blazer"
axle tubes are cheap and R&P will make them to fit the 101 spring pin width and width of the spindle face.
I have bought several things for my trailer builds from R&P and was always satisfied.
Mac3497 If the Chevy is the only vehicle you will be using "not a MV" I would switch the plug over to a 7 pin round or flat 4.
It will be cheaper in the long run.
The Harley family used our trusty M101A2 for yet another Oakmont Christmas Parade.
The theme of the parade this year was A Storybook Christmas.
Our float was The Elf On The Shelf. My youngest stepped in as Elf.
A simple and fast design was used this year a backdrop that dropped into the stake...
That looks terrific.
Are you using Toyota unit bearing hubs for the axle?
Very smart idea. Hub centric and an exact fit for your factory wheels.
Love the build.
Swiss:
Thank You.
I do get into the trailers as they are a little bit easier on the wallet. " than a MV truck "
And as you can see I like red.
