First off, convert it back to 24v.
Contact this place. http://www.superstartershop.com/services.nxg Starters and alternators are all they do.
They have done military alts and starters for years. They know what they're doing. Last time I used them, it was $60 for a rebuilt alternator, and...

I added a couple armor lights to my deuce to light up the cargo area and as an interior cab light. The cargo light switch was always left in the on position and power was controlled by a main switch in the cab. Whenever I needed to see in the back, especially with the cargo cover on, I just...

I like the old school air powered wipers, have never had a problem with them. That said, I also have a truck with the electric kit installed. They seem fine too. The only complaint I have with them is that the wipers park to the left, which is right in my field of view when in the drivers seat...
Thanks for the links.
Update: I disconnected the wiring from the relays and tested all of the posts again for resistance. I get '0.L' reading on all positions, left to right, to center, etc.. So that means the relays are good, right? Let me know.
Thanks for the help.
Also make sure your alternators are properly aligned. If not, they will accelerate the wear on the belt by sideloading them. You may be missing a spacer on the mount or a bent bracket or something similar. Pic below shows a spacer missing. This caused the alternator to mis-align and create a...
The starter relay will look similar to the one in the picture. The replacement will probably have an extra terminal on it but thats ok. It doesn't get used. If it's still in it's original position where Muddweiser described, there will be 2 or 3 smaller square relays next to it, they are Bosch...
Ted, Bjorn,
Excuse my ignorance, but electricity is not my forte. I know enough to crawl around with a chaperone, lol.
I tested the resistance on both relays. For puposes of explanation, the control box is positioned in the installed position.
Well, I was going to type the results out but it...
I used to work off of I75 and Bristol Rd. for an engineering firm, and I remember those huge lots of trucks. It was a sea of green. They would also park and load them across the street from the truck plant. There were many times on Bristol while waiting for the light that I would watch them...
I'll check the resistance of the 2 relays tomorrow. Here is another part that mounts next to the blackbox on the firewall. Also looks like some knid of relay. It looks the same or similar to the one you have inside of your box.
Get the Wellman 070 plugs. They are self-limiting, meaning they will not blister if overheated like the older ac13g's. It is what the military uses for replacements. The small piece of broken tip has probably been blown out of the exhaust. Do you have a small magnatized screwdriver you could put...
Hey Ted. Got into my 'blackbox' today. Thought it might be the cause of my intermittant loss of electrical power and truck dying. I've been operating on the overide thumbscrew for awhile, and when the truck is running I sometimes still notice the gauges will all drop out intermittantly. Well, I...
What a great project Patrick. I would love to make an 'RV' out of that same combo.
Here are pics of the M146 doors and M820 rear doors.
Also with an M818, you get 2 55 gal fuel tanks.
