I don't think you are getting what I am saying..The factory one does line up but the Energy sus one for a 93 k3500/NV4500(the summit link I posted) does not. why I could not tell you but it doesn't. I still like the way the mount looked so I used it. it was free. Took only a few minutes to drill...
It is the energy sus mount for a 93 K3500/NV4500 and the factory mount I posted is for the same. I don't know why it's made different. It came with the tranny but PO told me it was for a 93.
This is the factory mount.

Nope. Totally different. factory one uses 2 studs and spaced differently. Energy Sus one uses 3 bolts. Never saw anything like it before but it is differnt because I had a 93 and it used the same tranny mount as my 98 Burb.
well I can say that Jimmy I posted the pics of was a nice conversion. It stopped way better, I had piece of mind of strength and
the 3.73's worked out nicely. I agree the 3/4 front axles is no differnt from the 1/2 ton save for the hubs and rotors and bolt pattern. In fact IIRC the spindles and...
Tomorrow I am going to the Starter rebuilder to see if he can make me a 24v GR otherwise a 12v conversion maybe in order. Not my first choice but it will solve about 3 other issues.
Let me just say again though...This is the way these trucks should have come. it is so much more drivable now and still HAS NO ELECTRONICS !!. I know some have done 4l80e swaps but that requires a TCM. I personally think TH700s are junk.
Yeah I had heard that in some posts I had researched but I didn't feel like scouring junkyards when I could easily mod the one I had. I think a TH700 one supposedly works but I have an aftermarket tranny mount anyway which is different from a factory 93 k3500/nv4500 mount so drilling was needed...
Well I took it for a spin and let me tell you...THIS IS THE WAY GM SHOULD HAVE MADE IT!!! It drives awesome. I have not decided whether to pull the tranny again or not. it seems ok but 3 bolts could be loose. I'll have to keep looking at it. No vibrations. I ground the piss outta the starter...
F!!! The engine won't turn over.. Locked up solid..
I was about to rip the tranny back out in a pissed off rage and Dave got me to calm down and look a little harder.....Guess you can't use a direct drive starter with a 6.5TD flywheel....I hope the flywheel to crank bolts are properly...
OK so day one went pretty well. The shifter looked awful close to the 4wd shifter and I thought I was going to have to move the 4wd shifter but it fit. I may have to get creative with the shifter boots.. I welded up the holes in the crossmember with 3/16 flat stock and re drilled the holes...
So I ripped the TC out and........drum roll please............
IT FITS !!!! Like a finger in an *******... :D
So That was the big unknown so the project moves forward...He gave me a brand new centerforce clutch with it but the weird thing is the bolts are really shallow and I tried using ARP...
I have a hard time getting new flywheel bolts. The PO gave me the ones with the tranny but the head on one of them was a little beat up and I'm not a fan of reusing flywheel bolts anyway but GM discontinued them and Advance can't get them either. I ended up buying 7/16-20x 1inch ARP's from...
Well thanks to a friend in NY I have a nice NV4500 setup from a 93 with everything to put in my 86 K30/M1008. I hope it compliments the 4.56s gears and 35 inch tires. I will try to document as much of the swap as possible. After this then I am going to swap out the v belt system for Serp...
I had two blow apart and I lost the wheel and axles. No thanks. 8 lugs for me from now on not to mention way better brakes with the 13 inch shoes. You put a GM 14 bolt with a Detroit Locker and now you got something....
I'd never own a c clip diff ever again. The gov lock used in the 10...
