I think going to the automatic was a mistake. The automatics are very reliable, but I consider the vehicles vulnerable when starters, batteries, etc. fail. I have push started many a vehicle in the past with manual transmissions.
Don't worry about it - now you know. I'd keep this thread alive and delete your original post on the other thread. Although, actually this thread should have been under Upcoming Events. Was it you that telephoned me? If so, please call again.
I'm fairly certain I'll be there either with my M35A3 or M35A2. If my son-in-law comes, we'll bring both, pulling M149A2 water buffalo and M105A2 trailers.
I definitely intend to go to the show in Blue Ridge, GA. Someone called and left a message about the show, but my wife accidentally deleted it before I got it. Please call again.
At least three of us intend to convoy at least part of the way to the show. If anyone else is interested, please...
The M35A3 can only be started with the starter functional. The M35A2 can be pull or push started if the starter is out of commission. In this regard the A2 is more tactical in my mind.
I would recommend drill stopping the crack(s) and then brazing a piece of metal on the back side, assuming that you can get to it. I would then grind out the crack through to the backing plate and then braze the gap in the door (ground out crack) to the backing plate. Body filler will finish...
Sell it to a guy in in area that doesn't require a title with the understanding that he sells it back to you once he has it registered. I'm sure PA would register it then if it had a legal registration from another state. All you need are bills of sale.
When I have a tube type tire that is leaking, I never patch it. I always replace the tube with a new one. Most of the tubes in these trucks and trailers are many years old and have dry rotten. The labor is such a pain that in my mind replacing the tube is worth the small expense.
I understand that the CTIS control system is designed to default to the 'off' position upon total failure. Since the CTIS control system operation is not mandatory to operate the truck, it really doesn't make sense to harden it against EMP. The CAT 3116 engine has a mechanical fuel injection...
I would not recommend using AeroShell 500 turbine oil in a Deuce, or any other piston engine for that matter. The viscosity is quite low and in addition it is absolutely not compatible with mineral oils. I have attached a specification sheet from Shell on turbine engine oils. Pay particular...
I went with State Farm for my Deuces. Progressive was a couple of dollars less expensive. However, my Progressive quote was not for an agricultural vehicle. Make sure the description is correct. You don't want to get in an accident and have Progressive refuse to cover you because the...
That sounds good. We can all touch base right before the show to make some plans. North Georgia now has a growing population of Deuces. It will be good for some of us to get together and talk.
