    Turn signal switch rebuild

Funny, that - the original turn signal switch on my truck did that. I opened it up and it had some blackening of contacts and otherwise looked healthy. I am not the world's greatest electrician and so I just checked and cleaned everything, re-assembled it and it never worked again. Nada...

    trailer air brake operation

Fleetmech. it's one of these things I had never really thought about, so thanks for bringing it up! Turns out, at least the Deuce is consistent! If the hydraulic side fails, one's sphincter will grab the seat cushion really tightly. Imagine having this happen while pulling a 10,000 lbs air brake...

My 1971 Am General m109a3 RV build

May I ask what your reasoning is for keeping the 9.00-20 tire size? I have had them on my truck originally, driven it long distance that way and I would never go back after changing to 11.00R20 size. The lower rpm alone are worth it for me. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    trailer air brake operation

Here is the air line diagram: So, what you are asking is "is the piston (4 and control valve piston 5) inside the compensator mounted to the airpack actuated by hydraulic pressure, air pressure or mechanically"? Based on the assembly instructions, the control piston (5) protrudes into the...

    Slow deuce

They do, but they don't read them. So they never know which symptoms they are supposed to show, according to the book! That leaves me to figure out why they don't feel so good and what we are going to do about it. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    New deuce owner seeking advice

The e-brake is not helping much if the truck is moving faster than walking speed. It will stop the truck e..v..e..n..t...u...a....l....l.......y . My e-brake is serviced, tight and holds the parked truck strongly. I gave it a try at about 25 mph. It was like I did nothing. Maybe block...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed in cab storage box. I had this aluminium box, originally for a PC or power supply, and bolted it between the seats. I welded 4 bolts to the bottom of the inspection cover and set the box on top. Easy to remove if need be. Doubles as an arm rest! Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Fuel issue questions on in line fuel pump

When changing the fuel filters helps with the fuel starvation problem, the next question is why the filters clogged up in the first place. Unless they had been there forever and were never changed, of course. You could have crud in the tank that gets stirred up or algae or ... Your new filters...

Air leak from transmission area, brake pedal like concrete

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. "No air sounds" is definitely an airpack issue. You have been around the airpack for a while now and I do not want to come across as condescending - but the air sounds are not crazy loud and can easily be missed over an idling truck. I assume you tried it with air...

    Slow deuce

Common causes are air restrictions (dirty air filter) or fuel restrictions (clogged primary or secondary filters, crushed fuel line underneath radiator crossmember, clogged fuel line somewhere between tank and injection pump). Bypassing the FDC will help because it is akin to "turning up the...

    Front Dust Boots

That's always the question, isn't it? You are not alone in dreading it, so did I. I decided to bite the bullet and do it all. One thing that pisses me off way more than a long and tedious repair job is to have to do it over again because something else broke that I could have changed the first...
