Up till now I have been using ImackShack, but the service is starting to get slow and unreliable. Anyone recommend an EASY, FREE picture hosting service out there on the web? Thanks,
Found these parts in my travels to misc military junkyards. What are they?
From top left:
1. fuel pump of some sort
2. HEAVY lifting shackle of an unknown type
3. gas can thingy.
Okay, I need motivation, and expertise. I have so many projects to do around the house on a normal basis that by the time I get to working on my Kaiser, I'm bushed and lose motivation. I also have no experience restoring vehicles by myself, which makes a lot of the technical work I do suspect...
Man, we must have hundreds of vehicles, trailers, etc. floating around SS between all the users, but very few have put any in the Motor Pool. Are you guys ashamed of your green iron? Maybe red iron? :)
C'mon, if I can post my pile o junk being rebuild, some of you guys with the better...
Okay, the rear ambulance body heater for my M725 meat wagon has got to go. It's gas fired and looks like s**t, so I don't wanna take a chance and install anything that could detonate and ruin my few remaining hairs.
I would prefer to replace with something similar in size, but 24-28V electric...
Low rider, man! This gringo go loco!

Save this beast, and someone put the original axles back on it...
Have got the gas tank out and at the shop for Re-Nu treatment, now that the tank is out, I can service and replace the numerous gas and brake lines underneath the -725.
I'll tell you, without the rear driveshaft and gas tank in place, you can play a decent game of baseball under the -725! Lots...
What are ya'lls opinions on the Continental turbo diesel engine in the M35A2? I have a friend who drools over Cummins engines, but not sure about the Connie.
Anyone ever build up a nice S250 shelter setup with radio gear, etc. as a quasi-camper setup? Looking to do that prior to Aberdeen next year. Wondered if anyone had any good pics of the inside of S-250 shelters with the radio stuff installed?
I can't believe it. The new Valley Trader came out yesterday at 1200, bought a copy at 1700. Called on a "Army Equipment Trailer" listed for $300 obo about 30 miles from me. Called at 1730, I was the first caller on the trailer. 7.50x20 tires, a little surface rust, no holes. From the...
I want to get started on re-doing the inside of my 725, the interior is nicely painted (with latex house paint) on the good steel, the floor boards are unpainted and lightly rusted. I do not have the time/materials to sandblast. Has anyone else here done an okay job restoring metal with other...
Saw a M416 series trailer on the side of the road in MD, near Laurel, on Route 1. The trailer was in real nice shape, a ding in the right fender, and minor surface rust in the bed, but no holes anywhere or heavy rust. The paint was faded OD green, not CARC. "Seebees" logo sprayed on the side...
Okay, my schedule has really been f'ed up this summer and fall. I don't expect to get the truck on the road until late October or November. Far too late in the season to sandblast and paint the -725 outside, considering I have no garage and my property is surrounded by trees.
Anyone out there...
I have given up trying to find an affordable military fire extinguisher for my -725 restoration, and have decided to find a commercial extinguisher of appropriate size to fit the military FE bracket, and just spray green. What is the correct diameter for the military FE to fit this bracket, so...
Ah, my favorite place to go. I love going to Colemans surplus in PA every so often and walking the yard. Never know when you're going to bump your foot on a piece of something you've been looking for, or not looking for, you're whole life.
Weather was beautiful, which was odd, since it...
Going to this weekend's show in Gilbert, PA. For those of you unfamiliar with this show, it is at the fairgrounds in Gilbert. This used to be the annual fall Tobyhanna PA show until security measures post 9/11 forced the closing of the military bases to MV shows.
Lots of great vehicles...
Have an unused towbar in Front Royal, Virginia if anyone needs one. A bit scratched up from years of storage, but looks like it was never mounted on a vehicle or towed anything. Missing an exension arm. Not sure what it's worth to someone, here's a couple pics of the towbar:
Make...
Looking for a good condition M880 Dodge, any of the 4x4 varieties, near Northern VA. Want the vehicle to run and operate correctly, body is secondary but I don't want to need a tetanus shot just from looking at it. Minor rust in a place or two is fine. I don't need a big project vehicle, I...
