Someone did go looking for numbers on the frame, in the wrong place, and apparently gave up (there were no numbers in the auction). Your explination makes sense and makes me feel better. When I get the info from Medlog I will do the SF-97 request and not worry about it. THANKS!
Formup was at 0730 and parade start was at 0830, the weather was beautiful and I think the whole town turned out, WITH their children and grandchildren! Lonestar-MVPA was able to muster nine MVs for the event, 2 decked out MBs, a M38A1, two M37s, a M35A2 W/W, M813rc's 5 ton and Sarge's Gamma...
RE: appropriate post for 4th pics???
I learned that the first time I took my Reising M50 subgun to the gunshow, had a "colorful" conversation with a man who used one in the Border Patrol!
RE: appropriate post for 4th pics???
"I talked with a Vietnam vet for a while and he sure had some interesting stories to tell. He just kept saying as he looked at my truck "boy this sure brings back memories" he was a real treat to talk with."
THAT is one of the rerasons I bought my Deuce, I...
So the Army is not matching our SF-97 requests with SF-97s in their database and sending them to us? They are generating SF-97s from the information we are sending them?
WOW, I finaly found this thread!
I have NO data plates so here is what I have (and where I got it)
VIN (off the Frame):0325 30313
Reg (from inner door panels):4D5970
NSN (from GL sticker):2320000771617
Veh type:M35A2 W/OW
Picked up: 1 July 2008 from Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio Texas (GL...
My invoice does not have the number on it, I think I saved the auction on my hard drive, I will have to look when I get home. I am not so much worried about my SF-97/title not matching the truck as not GETTING a SF-97 from the Army because they can not find the record of my truck, or worse yet...
I just printed up my first SF-97 request form and the first page is easy, but I have no data plate on my Deuce so the info for the second page is going to be harder. I found the xxxx-xxxxx frame number so I assume that will do for the VIN#, the year and make are a bit harder to extrapolate, the...
RE: Suck it in!
Yes, I DO need a lot of PT, but that won't shorten my legs or give me back the 30% loss of movement from my bum hip:( The damage is done, but gutbusters still needs to be called before anything gets worse.
Thanks for bieng there for us, and I am glad we didn't see you that day...
Thanks for the kind words, she really IS a keeper. I plan to fix anything that needs fixing and preserve it in the configuration it left the service in. The "P" in MVPA is my plan for this one.
My seat issue is not one of gut room, it's leg room, but I think I have it licked. I took the box...
I read that article but was confused by the apparent disagreement between the 03 batch code in the frame number and the 70 ending in the hood number, and the fact the hood number is not hyphenated like his article leads me to believe a 1970 produced truck would be, so I decided to get some...
My data plates are missing so I don't know who built my truck and when, but I did find the frame number and I have a number painted on the inside of each door on the access cover.
the door number is : 4D5970
frame number: 0325 30313
The frame number is very lightly stamped but I am pretty sure...
My buddy Rory C (M813rc) and I went down to the GL yard ar Ft. Sam Houston yesterday to recover my Deuce. We get there by 1200, topped off the fluids and gave her a general inspection and were on the road by 1300 and in Cedar Park by 1530, in all a painless trip. Rory was driving the deuce and I...
