Ripped off by Fast Track Logisitics.

How would that work? They based the quote on the weight provided by GL. The shipping company is not liable for that incorrect information. I NEVER use the GL weight estimate unless it makes sense to me. Even then, if I am uncertain, I will estimate a higher weight and I know the price could...

Ripped off by Fast Track Logisitics.

I am not commenting on the price, but I think this transaction worked the way every other shipping transaction has worked for me. You provided them a weight from the GL website. They based their original shipping quote on that weight (they are not responsible for the information provided by...

    M985 Recovery and Restoration

I might have miscounted, but I think this is his third...PLS, M985, and M984. If so, WOW and where did you get the money!

    M923 wipers

I agree with BOLKBICH. In all of the many M939 series trucks that I've owned or sat in, I have never seen any wipers other than the air wipers. The air wipers in the M939 series trucks are head and shoulders better than the junk in a deuce. I have only had to replace one in over a decade...

    M52A2 recovery from Ft Jackson

Brandon, I know you are going to repower that M52A2. I understand your desire to do so as the Mack motor has more beans, but I actually think the LDS produces good power and has a sweet sound. Good luck with your recovery. That is a clean tractor...and the price was right!

    Backing up a 105

Much easier to do with the power steering in a 5 ton. I had to back up an M105A2 with an M814...not the best/easiest combination...but was able to back the trailer up in a "somewhat" straight line for about 100+ yards. I did have to straighten the trailer out once. To me, the steering on a...

    maryland here

Yes, welcome. If I can help you with anything, feel free to contact me. You are near BWI, right? I am about 40 minutes from you closer to Frederick or Mt. Airey.

M105a3 trailer, ugly yes or no?

Very nice. It looks like you added the retro support leg, right? Just curious...where did you find it? I saw one on eBay one time. I bought one from a fellow SteelSoldier, although I know he is out of them. I believe he had like 3 or 4 at one point.

M105a3 trailer, ugly yes or no?

With regard to the landing leg, a company (Williams?) makes a stabilization kit that is well worth the money (well, not retail money, but surplus money). I have one for my trailer.

    Hydraulic vs. pto Winches

Thanks for clarifying. I must have read the data plate wrong and had it backwards. You learn something new every day.

M105a3 trailer, ugly yes or no?

I agree. I think the M105A3 is a superior design, all except the landing leg. Galvanized bed, internal tie down points, recessed composite lights, side and rear marker lights, etc.

    Hydraulic vs. pto Winches

Derrick, I think you have it reversed.

    Value of a M820A1 Bed

I don't think you will easily sell the van body. I am sure there is someone out there looking for one, but finding that guy will be difficult. Just my $.02...

    Vent window latches

I don't have a source, but you could bead blast the chrome and then paint them flat black.

Maryland MV owners are in trouble

Others have already said it and I want to stress it again...write letters to the writers of this bill AS WELL AS your own Maryland Senator. The more times they are hit with letters complaining about this, the better. I have already done so (mine, unfortunately, was one of the author's of the...

Maryland MV owners are in trouble

Insurance is only one issue. Inspections bring up far greater problems. I once TRIED to get an M929 inspected. I had no interest in actually using the truck as it was intended, but it was younger than 20 years old and I wanted to be able to drive it. This was in the early-2000s before the...

M923 from Fort Polk to New Orleans

Juan, being from Metairie, you HAVE to know Jason Frisch (HALFTRACK), right? Check with him. He has quite a bit of knowledge about the M939 series trucks.

    M809 Fiberglass Hoods

I have never seen one up close so I can't answer your question, but Rancher's Supply in Lamar, CO has them for sale, too, so do some price and quality comparisons.

Quick question about 900 series having lockers?

I should have added that Derrick's M925 above was a USMC truck.

Quick question about 900 series having lockers?

The vast majority of M939 series trucks DID NOT have lockers. The exception was with USMC M939 series trucks. They most commonly converted trucks to singles if they had duals and added lockers, but I've had USMC trucks that did not have lockers and/or were not converted to singles so even that...
