My guess is the dual 3 phase rectifier assembly attached to the white connector failed sending the black soot up discoloring the main control board.

Original post updated with waveform pics and THD for all generators with 3 KW load.

I re-ran the generators all with 3 Kw loads. I'll update the first post with the pics at 3 Kw and THD values at 3 Kw for each. Time for a 🍻

Used the scope to do an FFT on the waveforms, measured the amplitude difference between the fundamental frequency and the harmonics. Then run that thru a spreadsheet to calculate THD.

I'm redoing that test. Will revise original post when I can today.
