my flu419 will not move in any gear

Hi BEL. My apologies. I wasn’t clear about which machine I was referring to. Yes, I have an MB4/94, but other than the mention that I had an MB4/94, all the post was about my FLU-419 SEE that some brainiac painted blue. So, in my post, everything after “In addition, I purchased someone's...

my flu419 will not move in any gear

Hi Frankenmog I am curious does your MB/94 have the air assisted gear splitter like the SEEs? I thought that was unique to the SEE version. Maybe your air is only for your brakes? I hope you can figure it out and win the bet!

my flu419 will not move in any gear

Hi Speedwoble - I have been looking through posts trying to diagnose my (latest) problem, and I noticed the question you posed above: "Does it stall when you let out on the clutch?". That's exactly what mine does. I know I have an air pressure issue. Pressured up the system externally and air...

Just to the right of the trailer brake air aviator is the actuator for the splitter . Air line on the left side and one on the top at the lower side of pic . The sensor in the top is for the display to let you know where it’s at . The sensor screw out . From where you are at you can pretty...

Trying to figure out if I can eliminate the test portal in the center console the mice had a banquet on the wires and the splitter tubing. I think the tubing is an easy fix does anybody know what the PSI is in the splitter tubes and which one is constant pressure? The wiring is another story are...

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier . Before you tilt the cab . Mine got stuck between high and low in the splitter . My main tank was over 100 psi . There is a priority regulator/unloader on the frame beam crossover just behind the trans under the truck . This is to make sure you have air...

The clutch switch definitely works. I intend to check both air pressure and 24 VDC to the solenoid prior to tilting the cab. I know the overall pneumatic pressure is good and is set at 106 PSI. However, that doesn't mean that one of the air lines feeding the solenoid isn't plugged up. When I...

Have you verified that the switch on the clutch pedal makes contact? As I recall, it has to be activated for the splitter to change ranges. Then again, if the starter works, the switch probably does, too. Anyway, I would do/try/verify a LOT of things before tilting the cab.

...the 2 different machines and non availability on the 419FLU compared to the 406 unimog having much more availability. I know the FLU has a splitter which is a split rear gear I believe to shift 1st Then 1st high range when splitter is pushed up on the shifter and clutches depressed it...

I tried shifting into high on the splitter once, just to see what the difference was, so I' no expert on this. But if I remember correctly, the clutch interlock switch must be activated or the shift won't happen. My clutch interlock switches aren't all that dependable (obvious when starting)...

You missed at least one cause. 6. Rust in the crossover air line contaminates the air system and plugs solenoids, filters, lines. This is a known issue and covered in the PS magazine articles.

I did find a way to search this specific thread. See attached. The search for splitter in the parent unimog thread is https://www.steelsoldiers.com/search/2687061/?q=splitter&t=post&c[child_nodes]=1&c[nodes][0]=34&o=date for anyone else who is looking. I will perform another search using the...

There are a few threads specific to what's (usually) the splitter. But if you read the entire "owner's" thread there probably isn't a single issue that hasn't been covered at least once.

...range 4wd (works as it should)...same outcome...3rd & 4th gear were somewhat useless if there was a slight inlcine in the pavement. Gear splitter always in high position. Tried it in low rang & 2wd and as suspected, speed is limited in this scenario. Additional info: cranks and starts...

my flu419 will not move in any gear

...if there is no load? Can you engage the PTO and use the backhoe(if so, the clutch is working). There have been cases where the high/low air splitter on the 1-4 shifter got stuck between high and low and the truck would not move. You need to give more detail about what is and is not working...

Quite possibly, but the SEE is getting old and tired; the HMMH has like, 160 miles and 700 operating hours on it, post-rebuild at Red River.

It'd be quicker and easier to add an electrically operated splitter valve to the SEE, wouldn't it? Then you'd have the same functions on it as on the HMMH.

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

The brakes on the FLU are air assist hydraulic. So without air, the brakes will work, poorly. Also, in normal driving, shifting will not be affected. The splitter is pneumatic, but used rarely.
