I imported to LMTV and one has decided not to start at the port. I don't have details as to the issue but I am enquiring as to if anyone near Port Hueneme or Oxnard California could take a look at the misbehaved LMTV.
Just an FYI... Texas no longer recognizes the Florida dealer reassignment form sent by GovPlanet when titling an LMTV with an SF97. One either has to produce a title or get a bonded title to title these trucks in TX.
If your parking brake is not activating, the check valve located behind the front bumper under the emergency glad hand may be bad. This check valve sends air to the emergency air chambers, from the vehicle's air source or the pulling vehicles air source through the emergency glad hand. I've...
I was servicing my M1088A1 and noticed that the Aux transmission cooler fans looked somewhat familiar. S&S used the connector from a 1982 VW rabbit and might also use the same fans!
The Border Patrol had a fundraiser for supplies for other Border Patrol offices and asked that I transport the goods to Bay City. We loaded up the M1084A1 ready to head out tomorrow. How I love this truck!
Here's the A/C install I did on a M1078A1 that is going up north to a customer. Install went clean and works better than the A/C in my car.
I've got a web folder of where the major components go and have put images below.

I had the opportunity to use the beasts with the Hurricane Harvey relief effort. The Rockier Volunteer Fire Department was fearful we showed up. The M1084A1 with its Material Handling Equipment was indispensable being able to move various heavy objects to clear paths for first responder and...
So from now on all LMTV's that come through my shop will get the flex plate bolts replaced torqued and lock-tighted. The US army must not own torque wrenches as this has happened with great frequency.
I was having an issue with compressors on my A1, one broke a rod and the replacement was extra "Rattly". I also noticed the air pressure guages were pegged to the right and there was a constant bleed of air at the rear of the truck.. Well I replaced the air governor and all of the above went...
Just an FYI..
I took the M1084A1 to the beach last weekend and had a blast.. I noticed the Fan was all the time on and sounded like a 747 on takeoff...
I spent the last two days diagnosticating everything and low and behold, the fan switch plug was inserted into the light check switch. I did...
So here beings my quest to install A/C into my 95 LMTV. Today I got the crank pulley nearly installed.
However the existing bolts were about 5mm too short so tomorrow I plan to get the proper bolts and finish the install.
It's also a great time to clean up and re lube the fan clutch.
So I've got this hair brained idea to relocate all the outboard equipment (batteries, fuel tank, and air tanks) between the frame rails, or in the case of the air tanks, fabricate a roll bar from steel pipe that also functions as air reservoirs.
The space is there however my concern is the...
