    MEP-802a Parts Question

In the 1st pic by the dead crank switch, I see you're missing the oil pressure sending unit. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Best front locking hubs?

There's a few brands...Warn, Superwinch, Milemarker...to list a few, but they're all basically the same stuff. My Squarebody brain rewinding back to my childhood was always Warn hubs in the 70s and 80s model years. Now with that said, there was always been a very notable difference between...

    MEP-803 Deoxit

My practice is: spray conservatively, pause, exercise, pause, exercise, repeat. It's just like CLP...ya have to give it time to soak into the nasty stuff. I have never used it for gauges, only for the rotating switches. Didn't loosen anything, just sprayed into the voids. There's a lubricant...

    CUCV Rear wire harness

Everything except the BO lights are common to all 80's GM Squarebody trucks. AFAIK the BO lights were on their own harness that ran parallel. If nobody here comes up with anything for you, Jack's in Tucson has a pack of trucks to pull parts from. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

How does the brake warning light work? (and many other brake problems)

Yep! A CUCV is a mildly modified commercial off the shelf (COTS) unit. 97% of the truck is a common bone stock K30 pickup just as GM sold off the lot, then GM added blackout lights and a secondary/piggyback voltage system to make them NATO compatible. The brakes on a CUCV are exactly...

NSN's for Door & handle for a MEP 802A generator

Just make a post under "parts wanted" saying you need such n' such door for an MEP-802A, the boys will do the rest. There's a few fellas on here who keep machines to sell parts from. Just describe which door you need by what's behind it...it's either the side with the coolant overflow tank, or...

How does the brake warning light work? (and many other brake problems)

It's expected to have some residual pad drag on the front rotors when the pedal is released. You'll know a caliper is hanging or pad is hung up if you start getting the smell of brakes or clutch, and the hub area will be exceptionally hot to touch and possibly some discoloration on the rotor. If...

    Winch install ideas

Gas millage dropping down from 18 MPG to 15 MPG

Winter blend fuel will decrease your MPG. Warm-up idling consumes fuel also. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Sagging door of doom

New seals will do that if you don't adjust the striker to allow for the new material instead of the 40 year old rubber. If you ever wanted a baseline refrence compare the door behavior with the original, then with no seal at all, then with a new seal. You should be able to adjust it to your...

    MEP-803A Forklift Points

As an appetizer before the experts show up: I'm sure if your forks were long enough to carry under the full length of the belly, I can't see why not...now with that said, I'm sure a case or 7 may have been wrinkled by a few junior enlisted folks over the years by doing it this way. I personally...

    mep803a odd oil leak help

I had that on an 802...was a loose hose clamp at the oil drain valve. I did a through degreasing, then cleaned and dried as best I could. I then lined the bottom with a couple white Pig Mat type absorbent pads...that showed me where to look for the leak. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Radiator Core Thickness?

So I just now saw you're in SoCal. As a native Vegas kid, I've been in and out of the LA Basin my whole life...if your truck is running warm on the highway, there's something off in the mix...and unfortunately the parts cannon is really the only way to troubleshoot or remedy it. You're right...

    Radiator Core Thickness?

I love seeing threads like this, tons of excellent information! My experience in this department have faired well with a 4-row brass/copper or 2-row all aluminum. I have had fantastic experience with Champion Radiators in SoCal. They build a quality all-aluminum piece, and I know many...

    Sagging door of doom

There should never be a need to slam a door hard at all, the adjustments are easy...YouTube University makes many more things easier today. If the door strike is just bare metal, a short cut of PEX plumbing pipe makes for a very good bushing to restore it to how it should be.
