Different lugnuts. Remember there are RH and LH thread lugs, depending upon which side of the truck. There are a few vendors that carry them in sets of 10.

Thanks for any feedback. Does anyone have the approximate weight of an M939 series cab, just the doghouse back, no doors, windshield, nor top.
I know some have dealt with moving and shipping these. Thanks in advance.

Hello, Neighbor,
I have a feeling you are going to be a wealth of knowledge... going to have to buy you a beer. Keg size. My M934A1 is at my brother's shop down at the south end of Hancock County while we build on it.
Going back through all of this post with a fine tooth comb. I have...

Thanks for the warm welcomes and wealth of knowledge. I am in the early stages of our military truck project, and thought it might be helpful to post some details in here. Hopefully we can share some more knowledge and collective engineering!
We do have a YouTube channel "SaltandSiren"...

Thanks for the response! Sounds like you are about 2 years ahead of me, or I am following right behind you in your wake.
We are making our M934A1 "Atlas" into an overlanding vehicle to live on for extended trips. I was able to purchase it with some of the essentials already started...
YES to all comments on 13'6" limit. I believe interstate bridges are required to be above this height, so to prevent any conflicts in routing I would definitely do whatever possible to stay below that!
Interesting link / writeup. Seems to break it down as simply as most I have read, and I have earmarked it. Started doing some thumbnail calculations and scratching out some things on paper for work over the winter. This summer is exterior setup while the weather is nice.
The electrical setup...
My M934A1 has a back articulated 'porch'. Similar concept, but different design completely... a hinged, winched, platform that folds up against the back. I am not sure if these porches were an option, as I have only seen other custom solutions, or a 'lift gate' through the Plan B guys. It...
I have noticed a little wall sponginess just on the driver's side outer wall while renovating the back. In taking off the inner wall skin, I started doing some investigation, and it looks like the outer wall seal (appearing original) needs some attention.
I agree with Guyfang's assessment and...

Thanks for the heads up. I think the wheel/tires are last on the list once I get it back together enough (cab extension done) to drive it more on the road and get a feel for it. You always offer great advice and have a wealth of experience with these.
Interesting you say that, the...
I have heard some rules of thumb, putting it around 5-10 mph at top speed, but no scientific calcs.
Yea I am looking forward to this being a long running project. I got a lot of ideas, just pulling them off will be the true test, ha!
For several reasons...
1) larger tire (16.00r20) articulation. Those "wheel wells" extend up under the van body and with the 16's being about 5" taller (10" taller overall) I wanted the additional clearance for suspension articulation out back.
2) it raises the front "bonnet box" that extends...
Papakb, thanks for the reply... sounds like I am on the right path. I was able to find and purchase a pair of MX-6707 bases, one of which I will use for the CB application. Now on the hunt for an AS-1729 set (and SWR meter) to mate up and tune. I just got the truck, so the project list is...

Very new to this, and this forum has been a wealth of knowledge so far.
My original intention was to take an MX-6707 base and AS-1729 antenna set to mate with a CB. This would maintain the correct 'look' of the M934A1, and be functional. I have been reading up on this for a bit (thanks...
