    CUCV Transmission issue

No I have not done that yet. Our day just started and the light has just come out. I am going to do the vacuum test first after I fix the wiring on a different CUCV. While it was running the wiring started to smoke and the rubber coating was melted off. These things are turning out to be...

    CUCV Transmission issue

That I understand but is there a range it needs to be in. I feel the vacuum when I put my finger over the holes but I’ve done that the ones with the issue and it varies from truck to truck, some stronger them others. I won’t have a vacuum gauge till tomorrow.

    CUCV Transmission issue

Afternoon guys, we are having some issues with the tranmissions in the CUCVs. We have few that have a really hard shift. We need to rev it to a pretty high RPM before it will shift. Me and my fellow mechanics have adjusted and replaced the vacuum control on the side of the injection pump. We...

    24 Volt systems

Thanks for that info. Our boss just took 5 to a alternator rebuild place. Now we have 3 more to add to that. The guy there said that the ones we took are the originals off the trucks.

    24 Volt systems

Thank you for that. I removed the genes from that blazer and one CUCV. Took all four to Autozone to verify functionality. Turns out the 2 off the blazer were bad and one on the CUC was bad. The main thing is that we purchased one from a local auto part store. One was purchased from a one vender...

    24 Volt systems

Alright NDT, I showed my boss's and they said one does charge at 12 and the other at 24. I haven't read in the TM any where at says that. now i have tested them with the truck running and I do get one at 14 and the other at 27-28. Yes, I have noticed that but a few wiring things are different...

    24 Volt systems

Ok guys, working on M1009 for the company. I know the charging system on these are a bit different from the M1008. Does one generator charge the 12 volt system and the other charge the 24 volt side? I put brand new batteries on the vehicle and it ran fine for a bit but now it is over charging...

    Thermal board

Not sure either, but whatever! I worked with what I had. If I didn’t have those pieces I would just put two bolts that fit the wiring eyelets and electrical tape them so they wouldn’t arch out on the firewall.

    Thermal board

I wish I could trash the damn truck but it is still company property. I have to retract the statement of not reusing that board. After some hard thinking and what if possibilities I came to a conclusion. As you can see, I bolted together the wires in the left side (facing the vehicle), the side...

    Thermal board

I hate that I can’t type as fast as I think it! I always mess up!! I have 6-M1008 and 2-M 1009. I made a temp fix for right now.

I can’t just replace what’s broken. It is no good to reuse in any condition!!

    Thermal board

Cool! Yes, I need one but I work for a government contractor. The purchasing is different then other places. If I was to inform one of the auto parts stores of that name, would they be able to find it. This what I have to go off of per the TM. Number 7. I found it on EBay but the company can not...

    Thermal board

Yes, they are on the CUCV’s. I work on a government installation. These are our “rentals” to transport me and my crew in and out of the box.
