I documented my MTV 3116 water pump change.

Thats interesting about the capacitors. I always thought my disconnect switch cut all power to the truck. It appears it only cuts half..? Oh well, zero drips on the new pump. I thought the price was reasonable for a genuine CAT part as well..

I documented my MTV 3116 water pump change.

Might be some useful info for someone. I did run into some interesting things. FYI, I'm not promoting this. I get paid ZERO. I have benefitted from others videos and feel it's my responsibility to add my fair share. Thx RR MTV LMTV CAT 3116 Water Pump Change (youtube.com)

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

So Ronmar, had a little time for truck maintenance and removed the filter/separator on the primer. I had a 1/16" x 1" twig lodged in the flapper.! can't make it up. Used an O-ring pick and removed it. She primes as designed!!

I might be a little crazy – 4,000 mile M1079 recovery Illinois to Alaska

Yea! I think he was putting 12v relays in a 24v socket or something.... I think he kept putting 12v relays in a 24v socket and was blowing them or something like that. Almost had frostbite... it was crazy!

I might be a little crazy – 4,000 mile M1079 recovery Illinois to Alaska

I watched this guy's video. He drove from Arizona to Alaska in an LMTV. It was entertaining and remarkable he made it. From breaking down to being towed in the middle of nowhere on a flatbed ($$$$).... I couldn't do it... Wow, it won't let me add the link. Search Captain Manus. I think there...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

Well, it's been a while. My dreams of making a crazy camper out of my truck changed. Living in the desert, we haul water. Our water company that delivers went out of business and guess what I did. The tank is 1350 gallons with a 225 GPM pump. Fills my holding tank in no time. The standpipe where...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

It's been a minute.... AZ has had a brutal summer, and I was forced to switch gears and come up with a plan for shade. Local concrete is $8 a Sq. Ft. Uh, nope...dirt it is... Hopefully back to the truck!!

    Oil Pump (Failure) - 3116, 3126, & C7

This chart applies to 3116/3126 engines. I want to do the pump also as I am at the lower end of acceptable. When I visited the dealer, I was informed of a pump update for the 3116. Evidentially it went from a gear type to a gerotor type pump. The REMAN was $750 and the new pump was $1800 or so...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

For those who have installed these, did you just install and go, or verify/adjust the wheel bearings then install? And can you properly adjust the wheel bearing with the tire installed? Just curious...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

The one I used, pictured above, fit perfect and came with everything. EXCEPT it is 12v. I didn't have time to order and wait for a 24v unit. Yes, the original one has an electrical wire to. I always assumed it was for a heater but could be wrong. I could have even used the original mounting...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

So, I was washing off all the diesel on the side of the engine and found this plate on the air compressor leaking quite a bit of air. I am also getting some engine oil around the vent of my brand-new air dryer. So, I guess it's rebuild time. Actually, I think I am just going to buy a reman unit...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

Not a good day yesterday. I was running into town to get another pallet of brick when I started smelling diesel fuel. I pulled into a gas station and saw fuel dripping all over and the side of the engine wet. I lifted the cab and discovered my fuel filter spraying fuel. It split! Like just...
