Good evening, all,
I just picked up my M105A2 from GL, and found that the passenger side handbrake cable is mangled. The part that is damaged is the sleeved part between the turnbuckle and the drum. This means the handbrake doesn't release on that side. The short term fix is to remove the...
What did the rear springs look like? We had ours nearly flat on the move down... and that was the SMOOTHEST ride I've ever had in the truck!!
Agreed, the military rated the truck for 5 tons on road - but the military usually builds in a buffer to the ratings, so that putting 10,001 lbs in won't...
I agree with doghead. The statement "I don't want to fix anything" sounds a bit naive to me. The truck as a whole is very reliable. But that is a very different statement than saying that nothing will ever require fixing. These trucks have a high tolerance for damage, and once started, will...
RE: Re: RE: Got the Axe....
Did a double take when I saw the post title and author.... You had me worried, Kenny!!!
Glad to hear it's good news, congrats!
Matt
Wow... that thing looks fantastic... and the backdrop doesn't hurt the pics, either.
Can't wait to see it on the highway!! I'm sure your usual habit of excellent data capture while driving will help us all understand what a cool truck that is!!!
Matt
Check out the search function - hardly a question that hasn't been asked before.

Maccus -
That M34 always takes my breath away when I see it. You did an awesome job with that truck.
The M135 bed is the same width as the front fenders and running boards on the deuce. Additionally, the M135/M34 bed does not have the ~6 inch riser between the frame rails and the horizontal...
RE: I didn
Because of license reciprocity, you're probably right. You're not required to get a CA driver's license at all because of the SSCRA..... and since TX doesn't care, then you're fine. I forgot that you might not be domiciled in CA.

RE: Re: RE: Overheating for the third time
Just because you "release" the parking brake in the cab... that might not actually translate to a released brake? That's what my dragging brake problem was.
Matt
Welcome to SS!
I never worked on these trucks when I bought mine, and Kenny gave me the same advice 3 years ago - and he's right. Once you get the truck and put your hand on it, things become a lot clearer. Read and re-read the manuals regarding operation before you get the truck (because once...
RE: Another Virginian.......
Bring:
- a hat ... deuce sun visors don't work too well
- rags for stuffing around the window in case it rains
- plenty of water.... firewall can get pretty warm on long hauls
- painkillers for your cheeks from smilin the whole time
I agree with Kenny. The...
Howdy!
We're looking pretty hard at some items up for auction near Pineville, LA. With the deuce deadlined, we're trying to figure ways of getting a trailer to us, or to go get the trailer ourself. So, we figured we'd tap the Steel Soldiers network!
1. Is there anyone near Pineville that...
Kenny - the reason medlog's avatar is that picture is because he is CARNAC!!
He is able to mentally interface with the world's computer system, and search the 'verse for deuce info based on VIN.
