    M1009 Motor Mounts

Just an update. Changed the motor mounts and transmission mounts on this 4th of July weekend. The energy suspension kit I ordered fit like a glove. My passenger side motor mount literally fell apart in my hand when I took it out, so it definitely needed it. Transmission mounts were equally...

    Favorite tires for a cucv?

When I was looking for tires for my 1009, I didn't like many of the options. Admittedly I haven't taken my rig off road, but I drive it pretty regularly. I ended up getting a 33x12.5 Hercules terra Trac. Low road noise. Rides really nice. Kind of a cross between an all terrain and mud tire. I...

    M1009 Motor Mounts

That's good info to know. I appreciate the intel. If i might ask, did you also replace your Mounting bolts? or did you just clean them up and re-use them? i was thinking about replacing the grade 5 (3/8-16) bolts that hold the clam shells down. I noticed also in the TM's that the driver side...

    CUCV Alternator Rebuld Kits

When i rebuilt mine, i got the kits from ebay. they were 50 bucks if i remember correctly. worked like a charm. Afterward i found a website that sold kits for the 27SI but haven't tried them. they are also 50 bucks. Alternator parts .com hope that helps.

    M1009 Motor Mounts

Good Morning all. Whilst crawling around under my rig this weekend i noticed that my passenger side motor mount is all but wiped out. Naturally i dove into the rabbit hole of CUCV Motor mounts. After reading many of the threads here on the subject, the "kit" that seems most popular...

    Headlight, Running Light Help

The wiring harness only covers the headlights. The factory setup powers the headlights through the light switch. The aftermarket harness allows the switch to power a relay that powers the lights directly from the battery reducing the load on the circuit. As i found the old resistors i tossed...

    Headlight, Running Light Help

I had this issue with my M1009. I head out for work at 4am and one morning , half way to work, I had no headlights. I tend to drive my truck pretty regularly so I took the nuclear approach. Order yourself the heavy duty light harness from LMC. I believe i paid something like 25 bucks for it...

    Starter stud.

I found the part. Asp wholesale Looks like a good source for alternator components too.

    Starter stud.

I'll have to see if I can find specs on that bolt and then maybe I can find something on McMaster that will work like that.

    Starter stud.

I don't think that will be secure enough. But thank you for the suggestion.

    Starter stud.

Hey gang. Just replaced my starter bolts. Typical bolt shear situation. I noticed when replacing the bracket on the front that the stud is sheared off. It has enough starter stud left to just pass thru the bracket. The bracket is up against the starter and all bolts are tight. I should be good...

When the alternator was rebuilt, did YOU rebuild it, or did you have a shop rebuild it?

    Spin on fuel filter questions

Just purchased the Duramax base. I can confirm it has both WIF and fuel heater as well as primer on top. Looking for the pigtail connectors next. I'm OCD about messy wires. 😉

Thanks for the info. That will be helpful in finding an appropriate base. I really appreciate it.

    Spin on fuel filter questions

I'm really interested in this topic. I have the old square style base on my 1009. I have been looking pretty hard at fuel filter setups since my base started leaking. I was actually looking at some of the setups for the 6.5. I think one of my main questions is, can I find a newer style base and...
