Thanks for all the posts, I am in central Texas at the moment, and reading up on if I need a CDL lic or not. I not only wanted the truck for the cool factor, but wanted to do something with it, not just a hangar queen. Been busy with school and such, have to take advantage of my GI bill before...
What do you guys think, a good investment, or a waste of money? how had is it to recover Trucks with it? How often do they get to be used on the ralleys? I found one for around 5k, just worried I wont get my money out of it. thoughts?
Sorry for the late reply, but weight is good to give you the most traction, like recovery said, just got to be careful about the nose.
Think of it like quads taking off in the sand, the heavier one always gains traction first, well from my experience anyways.
GL with your adventures!
not matter the weight in the truck, you will / can find something to get stuck in. as far as sand, weight is better, but if you have pencil thick tires, you will bottom out. Think of your tires like snow shoes, the wider your foot print the better.

Ok that is awsome, where and how much... kinda about taped out with the duece, was thinking of shelling out some cash to get a flat bed to tow my '69 c-20 and some garage toys. but that trailer looks real nice and serve as a good storage unit!
The biggest town in the area is Corsicana, Moving in with my parents till I find a house in the area, Richland Chambers lake is where thier house is located.
Umm, not to rain on anyones parade, but when you make it that hard to open a cap and they want your fuel, nothing a giant flat head screw driver and a hammer will make a good size spount on the bottom of your tank, happened to my dads company truck more than once.
just some FYI, I would prolly...
