    M1008 no start

I'm back up and running strong. Ok, so here is what I did. I replaced the ignition switch on the steering column, the glow plug relay (making some funny noises) on the firewall, I did the starter relay modification (getting some bad voltage readings at the relay), pulled the starter once again...

    M1008 no start

Well no visible signs in the ignition switch but now I’m remembering it did stick in the start position when it was really cold about a month ago. I bet that’s the culprit. I am replacing that and the starter relay and hoping I’m back up and running.

    6.2L rear main seal replacement

Well I was real slack on following up with this post but I did the rear main seal, transmission pan gasket, oil pan gasket, and oil cooler lines. Completed the work back in May of 2022. I appreciate all the help for folks on here.

    M1008 no start

Thanks for that. Yeah it is a no start when the key is in the start position. Starter doesn’t spin or click or anything. I’ll start tracing wires and testing with the multimeter. Thanks for the help. I appreciate the specific details about the starter relay etc.

    M1008 no start

Pulled the starter and bench tested it and it’s fine. Glow plugs work but no signal getting to starter to make it go. Turn the key to start and glow plugs come on but starter does not fire. Could it be the glow plug relay?

    M1008 no start

Starter is good. Battery is good. Wiring is good. Is it possible that something with GP is keeping the signal from getting to the starter.

    6.2L rear main seal replacement

Thanks for all the votes of confidence. I am slowly acquiring all the supplies I need to get the job done. I like to think, even though I've never worked on one of these, that I'll be alright given all the other crap I work on out of necessity given you can't find someone to do it or it is cost...

    6.2L rear main seal replacement

Thanks a ton for the info. I downloaded all the TMs and just read through the replacement instructions. The leak has gone on for long enough that there is quite a bit of oil blown all around underneath. Any advice on cleaning that before I get started? I was going to spray an engine cleaner down...

    6.2L rear main seal replacement

Hi Folks, I am new to Steel Soldiers and to owning the M1008. I am having a blast so far though. I apologize if the information is easily found and I missed it but could someone point me to the instructions on replacing the rear main upper and lower and other gaskets/seals while I am at it...
