    Wheel hop at 45 mph

I have a 1986 M1008 with a 4" (maybe 6") Rough Country lift and Kelly 285/75R 16 tires. At 45 mph the truck shakes as if the tires were not balanced. Tires and wheels are brand new. Had the same "hop" with old tires and wheels so I don't think it is the tire/wheel balance. Smooths out around 50...

A dump would really be nice!

Here are a few shots of my w/w M35A3 with a little gravel. I told the loader to put 4 to 5 tons but no more. He guessed wrong and put a tad over 6 tons which put me over my 26000# tag and the CDL limits - so I had to shovel a ton off before I could leave the quarry. It rode nice with 10,080#s of...

M105A3 Stabilizer Jack: Where did they all go?

With all the M105A3 out there with no stabilizer jack, it makes you wonder where they all went and why none show up for sale. I sure would like to have one to compete my trailer. Ron

    M35A2 Dump on Craigslist

Just spotted a nice looking (except for the headlights) M35A2 dump truck on Craigslist. Here's the link. Military M35A2 6x6 Dump Truck Is the rated payload actually 5 tons highway and 2.5 tons cc as the ad states? I would have thought given the weight of the bed that it would be less. Ron

M35A3 parts interchange - air tank

Just got my 2nd M35A3 today. It looks to be in great shape - idles a lot quieter than the other. However, it has a small hole in the passenger side air tank (probably rust). Will an A2 tank interchange? Thanks in advance for your replies.

    Restoration Questions - M35A3

I took a little detour from a business trip to drop in at to see my new deuce Thursday with my PAID invoice in hand. Too bad I didn’t have an appointment and Jason with GL had to be somewhere else. And I had no place off base to leave it. Jason told me that it does start and run which is always...

    300 hp CAT 3116

Just curious - I was following another thread that send me to CAT's site. They list a version of a 3116 with 300 hp and 732 foot pounds of torque. Any economical way to get that out of the 170hp A3 version? 3116 Production Dates: 1989-2000 3116 Ratings: Rating/Governed SpeedPeak Torque lb-ft...

    Weak Link???

Every vehicle seems to have a weak link in its drivetrain - for example with older Landcruisers its the Birfield joint in the front axle. So tell me, besides the nut behind the wheel, what is the deuce's weak link? If it is the tranny, then what is the next part most prone to breakage when you...

    CTIS Trouble

My CTIS does not air up right front tire; left front works fine. I have air at hub connection but no air at wheel stud. From the TM I don't see anything which should obstruct the air flow. :idea:I'm thinking about unhooking line at hub and blowing air backward through wheel stud. :?:Am I...
