NDTs on front and super singles in the rear

They'll handle differently and the diameters will be different, so do NOT engage the front axle. Otherwise, binding, bad handling, and breakage are likely.

    How to lock up / secure a M35 A3 ?

Welcome to the group, and congrats on your acquisition! There is so much information amongst the pages and members here. I've found that changing your search phrases often yield different results and help find what I'm looking for. My M35A2 has the chain welded to the steering column, as was...

Getting started from scratch with a Deuce in 2024?

There is a lot of good information from experienced members before my reply. The comment on air brakes and licensing might be a thing in some places, but not in all. State laws will vary as imnsure you're aware. Licensing and insurance for a military surplus vehicle can be tricky, so I would...

I'm in also. A good time to renew my subscription too!

    Deuce Air System Questions

The check valve is supposed to be there, and it should only allow air flow in one direction. It shouldn't take force. It should flow from the primary tank (passenger side) and then through the tube, through the valve, and into the secondary tank (driver side). The point of the valve is to keep...

    Smoking engine

The smoking after idling for 30 minutes is likely from wet stacking. Like @rustystud mentioned, they're meant to be run. Idling for extended periods doesn't get or keep the engine at optimal running temp, which will likely result in wet stacking, particularly in older diesel engines. Wet...

    Air dryer options.

I know this thread isn't quite current, but I was learning a good bit from it. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Dewalt 20v impact! I have the same Dewalt impact and figured with the max setting, it should do the job to remove the lug nuts. With a torque limiting extension, I figured...

RustOleum Rusty Metal Primer (the red version)

I know this thread spans years, so I was hesitant to resurrect what may be a zombie by now, but its still relevant and good info. I am just getting started on a miles long list of things to fix on my new to me '72 deuce, and theres a good bit of rust etc to take care of. I was checking the...

    M35A2 Aftermarket Radiator Install Thread

Thanks for sharing your pics! I will probably be undertaking the same project in the near future, so youve already helped me better understand what im getting into.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I recently went through a similar situation. If you or your friend want to PM me, I will gladly share my experience and how I was able to get everything done. Different states may play by different rules, as youre probably aware.

I am definitely in and could certainly use these to help resurrect my M35A2! Also, thanks for providing an additional incentive for me to go ahead and start supporting the site; I'm definitely doing that now too!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks for sharing! That's awesome work. I'm curious about the switch for trailer brakes, is that to power an electric trailer brake controller? I'm a long way from that project, but it's something I'm planning to install later on. And I have to ask... What's a "Doodle Booster?"

    New member

Welcome! I'm fairly new here myself, though I've been lurking through forums and stories for a few years... still haven't run out of things to learn or stories to follow.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Very fitting. I may be biased, but I like it!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Not quite. Those are very similar to what I have on my Harley though, very good lights! The ones on my deuce are LED with a single projector lens with several rings of leds on the outside, white for running lights and sequential amber for turn. I finally found them online by Auxbeam.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks! That is exactly how I've been diagnosing and tracking things down. The original turn/tail/brake lights work fine, but the previous owner removed the front turn signals and put halogen KC lights in their place. He had replaced the headlights with LEDs that have a daytime running light...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I’ve been removing the really bad wiring and extra lights, accessories, etc that the previous owner had added. In my exploration of the deuce, I found the previous owner had replaced the turn signal flasher with a mechanical flasher that wasn’t working correctly and at times, not at all. Thanks...

    M35A2 Battery Cable Size(s) & Lengths...

I know this is an old thread that I’m digging up, but I was searching and stumbled across it, looking for the same answers as the OP. If anyone else is looking for specifics, here it is. What I’ve learned is: All the NSNs and cable lengths are found in TM 9-2320-209-20P. I found the gauge by...

    M Series Door Latch Repair

Thank you all for the previous posts. I recently acquired my deuce and knew the passenger side door latch was inoperable and figured it would probably be one of the easier fixes. It certainly looks that way. Now I just need to start disassembling stuff and see what is going on.

    Please don’t say head gasket…

That's not nearly as much stuff as I have weeping from various locations. I've been looking around and that's why I stumbled onto this post. It looks like I'll be doing head and valve cover gaskets soon. Thanks for sharing your experiences and insights! Now I'm not so intimidated by the...
