OK this helps. The flame detector has 2 wires and yes they both go to TB3-1 and TB3-2. I turn the S1 switch on the machine to vent and I purge the line for 10 seconds. Then I turn the machine to cool and I can see the flame through the looking glass, and the combustion fan is running. Then I...
Do you know how to test the flame detector. I have another heater that I use for parts and I could use that one, but I would like to check it before. I was reading that you can shine a flashlight and use my multimeter. I just don't know what readings I am supposed to get. It has two wires...
When I tried to pull the sensor out of the tube assembly on the burner, the flame detector detached from the wiring. The flame detector was stuck in the tube assembly. I have replaced these before and all the other times the flame detector has detached easily, but this time the assembly broke...
PS...it turns out S2 is what controls the cycling of the burner, not a timer. After the output air reaches about 160 deg. it is turned off to cool. This is documented at the top of pg. 0003 00-4 "Heating Modes"
Great response Larry, I have had the same problems with 2 of the 9 heaters I...
There are two pumps they used on these units: one is a Suntec and the other one is a Webster pump. With that being said, Suntec bought Webster Pumps. Both pumps are obsolete. I have not been able to find EITHER pump in stock or for sale. I have attached pictures of the pumps with Model...
The white coupler between the fuel pump and the motor is not turning. I took two of the pumps off and the square end on the white coupler is sheared off. The square part of the coupler slides into the motor. I assume the pump gets locked up or "gumed" up and the motor shears off the square...
I have 4 units that have the same problem with the coupler #5. I was wondering if you ever found someone that sold the coupler or got one manufactered??
Thanks man this really helps me out!
I am finding more and more ways to get these things running. I thought they were dead machines, and one by one I eventually get each one figured out. These forums really help with the brain damage of not knowing and not finishing
I was wondering if you ever found a new pump? I have 5 of these and I am having problems with all 5 pumps. One the pumps I was thinking of rebuilding.... has anyone done that? Are their parts available to do this? Can you change out the pressure regulator?
Two of the others I am going to...
I have 5 Choctaw H-140 heaters. All of them had no diesel fuel in them. All of them will not start nor show pressure on the PSI gauge on the console. I have read through both TM that have been given to me by fellow Steel Soldiers. I am currently reading up on the Suntec Model J6BC-325-3 fuel...
I have a Chotaw H-140 also and I have been looking for the fuel pump. The training manual has all of the parts except for the pump itself. They reference every part to and from the pump but not the pump???
Yes all 5 of mine are drained of diesel fuel, and I can't get any of them to show pressure. Can you buy new fuel pumps?? What should you use to clean the lines and fuel pump?
Has anyone rebuilt one of these?
Can you buy new ones?
Is there a rebuild kit?
Is there a replacement pump?
Is there a way to pump something through them to clean them?
Any answers are appreciated
I have 5 of these Choctaw heaters. All of them have the same problem no fuel pressure. I am aware of the problem with the oil they used in these fuel pumps.
My questions below answer the same issue What is the best way to get these running?
