@m1010plowboy It sounds exactly like an old sewing machine. The engine plate shows it got a full overhaul in 1971 at a maintenance plant in SC as far as I can read it. The manifold does not have Gold Comet on it, so I think it is a Continental.
I have browsed through TM9-2320-209-20-2 and TM9-2320-209-10-1, but I did not find the recommended engine oil for the OA331. Which TM has the lube info for the OA331?
@NDT The number on the frame is I see is L20306. I looked but did not find the VIN thread. Can you point me to it?
@G744 The entire air system has been removed. The hydrovac booster may be stuck and making it require the leg workout to stop the truck.
20,000 miles on the odo. Was told it was used by a hunting lodge for a few years to clean and move carcasses back to the lodge. It has been parked for a few years since then. There is still a gov auction sticker on it with a barcode. Not sure if that is useful or not.
The Zeligson conversion...
@m1010plowboy Thanks for the info. Looks like M35 parts are still out there. I am curious about the brake system, Most M35s I find online have two air tanks, but this one just has a little canister where the larger tanks would be.
The A2 5 ton went to a better home and now we have this deuce. I believe this is an early M35 truck. It is a winter project. Runs great, but the brakes aren't too good. Looks like the master cylinder is the issue. The park brake shoe rusted to the drum and also needs to be replaced. Are there...
I am looking for some photos on how people have built mounts for a snow plow (13') . The bumper/frame rail area is fairly easy. Mainly looking for examples of the lower mounting points. I only found one example searching. Thanks in advance.
Small town WY, talked to driver license office. They said if the truck is staying local, not commercial and not getting on the interstate, they don't see any issues with not having a CDL. The kind of place where you ask the officer to call and check with Greg at the DMV if you have an issue and...
What is the best size o-ring for an M923A2? I have heard the 1/4" are to thin, 3/8" are too big and the 5/16" are just hard to find. Looking for anyone's experience with specific vendors and sizes.
I have not taken one apart, but my guess is there are some small relays inside so you will need 24V to test it. DVOM with a small power supply will allow you to test them. You can get a cheap power supply on Amazon...
2" .120 DOM is a great size material. I have used it alot and I have seen it keep 3,000 lb cars survive rollovers ar 200+ MPH (salt flats). The weight of a 5 ton on 2" .120 would likely help to some extent on low speed rollovers if designed properly. Rolling a 5 ton at 50 MPH, it's mostly just...
