Some friends and I took our MVs to Haspin yesterday and had a great time. It was a beautiful day and not as muddy as we thought it would be....although we all got stuck at least one time!
I remember applying camo colors with a paint brush on new M151A2s when I was in Germany... I remember thinking "Wow, I'm painting over this new O.D. with a paint brush! what a shame!" ..... I think I'm going to use a spray gun and paint my M880 with some Majic olive drab from Rural King.:-D
I recently replaced the alternator and starter relay.... and re-wired the charging system by-passing the ammeter and re-routing wires around some damaged/burnt bulkhead connections.
I never had the opportunity to drive M880s (or Chevy CUCVs, they came much later) when I was in the Army. The M880 series trucks were not sent to my unit, we had Gama Goats for 5/4s instead. I bought my M882 about a month ago from a guy that bought it from a government auction at Camp...
Your M880 looks great! What size tires do you have on it? Does it have a suspension lift? By the way, I was in Germany too. 4-64 Armor in Aschaffenburg, 1975-77
dang near wrecked my M882 coming home from work when a Honda Civic cut me offaua!. Then came home and replaced the starter relay so I don't have to start it with a screwdriver...
