    Replacement Gauge Cluster?

That is both overwhelming and really nicely done! I think I would be terribly distracted trying to drive with all that going on.

    Replacement Gauge Cluster?

Where did you get the labels? Did you make those? That's my sticking point just now - I can get little indicator lights but I'm not sure what I'm going to do about labels yet.

    Replacement Gauge Cluster?

Because I'm trying to clean it up and streamline it and make it more useful. Just tacking more stuff on will add clutter to the dash area since I already have a switch bank where the radio would mount (radio is mounted in the console).

    Replacement Gauge Cluster?

Thanks. This is what I'm thinking I'm going to do also. Looking at the install video, it looks like the new Glowshift gauge set installs over the factory gauge rear cover. I should be able to retain turn signals and hi beam indicator in their stock locations. Wait light, low coolant, 4WD and H2O...

    Replacement Gauge Cluster?

So I think I've found a gauge cluster set (Glowshift) that will allow me to do what I want at a reasonable cost. Wait light, 4WD, H2O in Fuel, parking brake, etc. can all be located as small indicator lights next to the 24V gauge on the vent block off plate or down on the lower left vent block...

    Replacement Gauge Cluster?

Isn't the cluster- minus the 24v gauge - all 12v in the CUCV? Would an aftermarket unit from LMC or similar work? I know there would be a fair amount of wire splicing to get it all hooked up since it doesn't seem they offer a diesel specific version that I have found. Do any of the dash units...

    Generator lights question

Bummer. Was hoping it was something easy like chasing a bad ground (ha!). Thanks.

    Generator lights question

When I start my M1009 both gen lights come on and stay on. Voltmeter is low yellow or red. I can race the engine a bit and both lights will go out and voltmeter will go to high green. If I don't race the engine and just drive it, eventually one of the lights (Gen 1?) will go out and the...

    Replacement Gauge Cluster?

Hi all. I'm wanting to replace the stock "dummy light" gauge cluster on my M1009 with something a bit more informative. I've looked through some of the aftermarket C/K parts sites but haven't found a clean swap for the 1009 dash. I don't need anything super fancy just oil pressure and maybe oil...

    Wrong dash pad?

Glowshift makes a kit - it runs just under $600. I'm also doing a similar conversion.

    1009 in South Dakota

New to me 1009, originally out of the North Dakota NG TMP or so says the bumper decals. Came to me via another civvie owner. Odo said 44K when I got it, prolly 144 but the vehicle is very very clean. No real rust anywhere which is always a concern in snow country and it runs and drives just...

Switched 12V Source for New Accessory Fuse Block

THIS! This is the exact answer I was looking for thanks. I need to learn how to ask questions correctly.

Switched 12V Source for New Accessory Fuse Block

I was hoping that the relay under the dash (that I'm replacing) could perform this function - that I could pull a wire off the switched terminal (where the purple stripe is connected) to run the new accessory fuse block. I guess I'm not sure what this relay/solenoid under the dash does? I...

Switched 12V Source for New Accessory Fuse Block

Do you think that circuit is robust enough to support 70-80 amps? AC circuits are usually pretty hefty, but i think that might be pushing it. The reason I want to put in a dedicated switched fuse box is I'm not sure the truck wiring would support the amps to run that many accessories. They...

Switched 12V Source for New Accessory Fuse Block

Hi, new member here with a new to me M1009. Great site with lots of useful info, I've been poking around a bit already. Did not see this specific question in the library so here goes. Today I am converting over the stock starter solenoid using the Doghead mod. I am also planning to add a 12V...
