    MEP 803 buyer guide/video

I was curious how much they were up to now so I looked this one up here Looks like winning bid was $3,655.00 plus 15% fee of $548.25 which makes it $4,203.25 plus 6% PA tax of 252.20 Total paid on this unit out the door was $4,455.45 Which makes me wonder I bought mine last year for ~$2,600 out...

    Generator welder/air compressor

Wondering if there are any military gensets with air compressors or welders built in, doing some searching I'm not finding any military welder generator combos but one would think this would be useful and may exist?

    First MEP-803a

I basically used that exact same setup only difference I did was I mounted a twist lock on the genset I think you will be happy this setup is pretty quick and I haven't had any issues yet.

MEP803A owner needing non MEP gen advice....

Everyone here troubleshoots different but if it was mine and it does as you say the most simple test to start with is take a multimeter and ensure the switch is working when in the "Run" position, you could also see if it is a solenoid issue by manually powering the solenoid and seeing if it...

    First MEP-803a

He said he already purchased the fuse kit from kloppk (which comes with the quad) in the first post) :)

The appropriate number of military gensets to own is "n + 1" where n = number of military gensets you currently own. Also if you care the gauges have lights in them, I powered mine from the normal green lights...and also added leds (old video all missing parts like e-stop are replaced)

Proper grounding for generator as a component of off grid solar / house system.

Stop going off posts and instead only follow the ones that show the latest nec codes to backup their claims, or as mentioned countless times hire a licensed electrician.

Proper grounding for generator as a component of off grid solar / house system.

Of course consult a professional and also read up on the current NEC codes according to NEC 250.53 the only time you should have more than 1 grounding rod is if the ohms on the main grounding rod is 26 or more furthermore section 250.34 states that the frame of the generator itself will server...

    MEP803A Brass Terminal Nut

Given the one you get is not just a frayed string, or just a handle with the head broke off haha

Proper grounding for generator as a component of off grid solar / house system.

I didn't watch the first video I try to watch recent ones like the one I linked, and genset running by itself (not connected to the house) with just extension coords for example the gen set should NOT be grounded but SHOULD be bonded, running a genset grounded while say using an extension cord...

Proper grounding for generator as a component of off grid solar / house system.

Did you quote the right person? He is saying to make sure that the genset running the home is not neutral and ground bonded and instead is a floating neutral as when you connect to your bonded and grounded main service disconnect/main inlet that will provide the path for all short circuits and...

    AMMPS Generator Series Remote Data

Oh yes for sure I wasn't meaning your code specifically just to future readers really...your code was just handy to use as an example, for the others reading this and the sir/madam that asked about the math it is basically just this (again using kloppk's code as an example haha uint8_t...

    AMMPS Generator Series Remote Data

    Depending on how decent you are at bitwise operators or coding style I find something like // Bus Frequency Row 12 int Pval = (DCSParams[12][5] << 24) | (DCSParams[12][4] << 16) | (DCSParams[12][3] << 8) | DCSParams[12][2]; float PvalFloat = static_cast<float>(Pval) / 1000.0; Serial.print("Row...

Proper grounding for generator as a component of off grid solar / house system.

This video is one of the best imo because it uses great animations to show the path the electricity will take and goes over many scenarios.

    Auto-Throttle on MEP-831a

That's what I was wondering I know how the pin works since I have no batteries and have to pull start every time, just wanted to make sure if I left it pinned it wouldn't burn up the controller, some random guy gave me a good deal on that controller and didn't wanna see it die after a month lol
