Clicking from the pumps, or something else like relays?
Are both your batteries good? As in really good? One weak battery will give you all sorts of headaches. This is also something I found out the hard way...
When you open the control panel door there are 3 black plugs at the back right. That's the area. They disconnect from below if you were ever to need to disconnect them. If I got another machine, I'd probably do it just because, and hose all the contacts down with Deoxit.
Good that you saw...
I'm sure the real experts will be along shortly, but until then...
If you have not downloaded the TM's (technical manuals) for the 802a you should do so, and spend a little time trying to read them. They're challenging until you get used to how the military wrote them, but they are excellent...
While a complete extra 116 wouldn't be the worst thing to come in to, I really only need the tongue jack for the unit I have. Plus Wisconsin would be a bit far to come pick it up...
Cheers
Just removed one today... I had pulled the whole fixture out of the dead 813a during salvage operations... Clamped the block in a vise, and got the 2" strap wrench set up. 1/2" ratchet, and 30" pipe got it off, but the can didn't survive unscathed, and it took a pretty good pull out at the end...
Brakes are solid on my 116, so that's good to hear. I do need to pick up some chocks. The rocks I'm using currently certianly will do the job, but they are less pleasant to move around...
And yea, bolts are a must. Can't go anywhere with the chains currently, but it would pound on the deck...
I'm curious what people experience is with an 802a on a trailer is for dancing around. Being a 2 cylinder, it's going to shake, and that is going to transfer in to the trailer. Assuming you're not on a perfectly level location, (and there isn't a level spot anywhere on my property) do they go...
Casually looking for the adjustable front landing jack for a M116.

Crank handle would be nice too.
I figure it's just easier to swap it in for my fixed length leg than instal a civ trailer leg, and I'm currently feeling lazy, plus it's still cold out there to be...
When you load up a diesel, it's going to smoke somewhat. If it's kinda a gray haze I usually think it's happy. If you start rolling coal, then you have to figure out what's going on. Can't watch vid where I am to see what you've got.
I will tell you, that when your choice is no heat and power, or sleeping next to a 1600 watt 3600 rpm Winco with a rotted out muffler, you sleep just fine with it running.
I doubt I'd even notice the 802a.
First, welcome aboard.
Never touched an 831 myself, so I can't be too much help. However, I can tell you the best thing you can do when you get frustrated with these things is to take a break, step back, and then go back to square one. Follow the TM line by line, and don't assume you did...
That was my thought. The index plate lives under that end cap with the 3 nuts. I was sure there was going to be a ring under there. No such luck, and I sure didn't see a groove, or even scratches for a e-clip, c-clip, or push nut. There's room for it, but I didn't see any evidence.
When I...
Switch in question:
Ok folks... When I was pulling apart the carcass of the 813a, the S6 knob was stuck. Bad. The center screw was no issue, but the knob was not coming off. Obviously the cold wasn't helping. I had a couple screw drivers under it to lift, and rock it a bit when it moved a...
So, just out of curiosity... Where are you finding a Murry 15358? I went through every Murray thermostat on the O'Reilly site, and did not find that number.
I did find a 15358 at AutoZone, but not a Murray brand.
The only references to Murray having that number I find are here on...
Weather cooperated with me today... Managed to get the 116 off my tilt bed. Vast majority of the ice storm melted off.
I did not have enough time to properly bolt the unit down as I will want to do. So instead, it's chained down so I could move it, and get a tarp over it. The tarp isn't...
