AGE, I searched and found nothing related to leaks at the booster fittings. It wasn't the lines that failed initially, it was a leaking master and wheel cylinders. The hard lines had no issue initially, only once everything was fit back together with new booster were they leaking. Both were...
Hey guys,
I'm in the process of replacing the entire brake system. After losing brakes on the road after first buying the truck, I decided that was a ride I'd rather not take again!
So I've got 6 all new wheel cylinders on, new master, new brake booster. In the process of starting to refill...
Thanks for the info. However, I have done the research and know what they look like and where they're SUPPOSED to be located... they're just not there. On any three of my axles.
I guess my question should be... Why don't I have these vents? And is there any other way that rockwell axles may...
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I am having difficulty locating my axle vents. After searching all over I see nothing that looks like a vent, no lines other than brake lines, anything.
Were there different styles of vents, or am I going nuts?
I have not yet resolved the issue. Mainly because work has kept me on the road for the past few months and away from the deuce.
Check the pictures I uploaded and make sure the lines are in the correct locations.
I removed the front wheel cylinders to find one side of each leaking and the...
I wonder if anyone has an actual picture of it installed on theirs. According to the diagrams I have it on the correct line.
I am worried that my brakes don't release pressure (PPSSSHHHH) after I release the pedal. I think the air hydraulic cylinder is holding the pressure in which is...
I didn't put it on the vent line. From that first picture, I feel like it went on the Trailer Service Air Line... Is this correct?
In the second (cartoon) picture, it doesn't show the air line that goes to the rear of the air hydraulic cylinder. I did remove this line, depressed the brake...
Thanks to the replies on my thread, I now have a new brake master in the truck. Installed the new style air brake pressure switch. Bled the master and all 6 brakes.
The brake lights will come on... and then stay on. I assume this means my air pack is malfunctioning?
I read another...
Removing that one bolt on the passenger side of the master worked! That actually gave it plenty of clearance.
Thanks guys!
Great forum! This is my first post... been browsing on here for years though.
Are you talking about the two plugs on the back side of the master that are both slightly angles downward?
I had thought of that, but didn't think it would give me enough clearance.
I searched, but found no info on how to actually remove the brake master.
I am in the process of replacing my leaky master. All the bolts and lines are removed, but the master seems to be wedged between the front bracket that it mounts to and the frame crossmember behind it.
Is there a...
