After the power outage this week I changed the oil filter, fuel filter, fuel/water separator, topped off and then treated the fuel before putting the generator away.
Everything went fine until I went to change the water separator. Notice the gasket.
Bone dry.

I'm on-board with the overload stuff. I ran it at overload for a minute at the very most. With equipment, I believe that the redline is a warning not a goal. Generally speaking.
Sometimes I do have lapses in judgment. Especially with rentals. LOL
The smoke looks like what you're sayin- slightly gray/black. No blue or white. It's not any more than the pre emissions work trucks I used to drive (CAT 3208, DT 466, ect) so I'm thinking it's good. Good power and temps.

I recently bought an AN/MJQ-35 power plant. It's two MEP802A generators on an M116A3 trailer. It has a synchronizer box that can parallel the generators. It's going to be standby power for my home and an alternate disaster center power source (120/208 3Ø) if their primary fails...
