    Blending colors for touch up

Thanks. I'm actually right by where Army Jeeps Parts is located so I was planning just to buy the paint he sells. It used to be part of a fire department. Previous owner removed the red paint with oven cleaner. It's really neat to see all the different markings.

    Blending colors for touch up

Hello, I have an M38A1 with original paint. I want to do touch-ups in some rough areas, but it seems it's 2 different colors. It looks to be both the Vietnam and earlier OD color. It's sort of in it's own camo pattern. Any recommendations?

    Somewhat but still slow.

    M38A1 maxes out at 35mph

    M38A1 maxes out at 35mph

I was going through some TM’s noticed the top speed of an M38A1 is 60mph. I can only get up to 35mph cruising in mine. It seems slow compared to what I’ve read online. 1st gear shifts usually at 10mph and 2nd at 20mph. 3rd comfortably cruises around 35mph before pushing it. What would cause...

Vacuum and timing, weird engine issues

I’ll try the starting fluid method then the propane method. My smith aircraft torch should work well for that. Thanks.

Vacuum and timing, weird engine issues

It has a freshly professionally rebuilt fuel/vac pump. The intake manifold has a line that goes straight to a tee which meets with the PCV valve and vacuum pump.

Vacuum and timing, weird engine issues

Hello, Recently bought a 1953 M38A1. Not my first jeep as I also have a ‘63 CJ5. It didn’t really occur to me when I bought the M38A1 but it sounds like a diesel engine. It much noisier than my cj5. I checked the valves and they were adjusted properly. Compression numbers were ok, all between...
