    clogged fuel line?

Fuel Lift Pump replacement What the heck... no replies??!! I tried shop air back up the pump inlet hose and didn't get any hissing from the fill neck. Wasn't sure that would work anyway. Pump was still suspect, not sure of the lines. My tank was very clean when I drained it and...

    clogged fuel line?

My M998 was running like it was fuel starved, losing power at highest speed. At lower speeds, it ran fine. Parked it overnight and had a hard time starting it. Cracked the drain cock on the fuel filter, the engine died and will not start. No fuel spurting from the pump or filter while...

Well the bad news thus far is that: YES, there is an actual Indiana law that defines a military vehicle for purposes of the IHMV program as privately owned and 25 years or older. The Indiana BMV finally recognizes that the DOD marking guidelines they were using to define the multi side...

I agree, but that’s not what I was told. It’s fubar in that office.

Got my metal truck plate and registration last Friday. Left it all in the mailing envelope and stowed it in the rig. Temp paper plate is coming off as soon as I’m over the flu. The Director of Registration at the Indiana BMV is looking into how her staff is advertising and (incorrectly)...

For those of you looking for a good battery charger at a good price for 24 volt syst.

I bought a NOCO G15000 to bring my M998 batteries back to life. It would not work at first, my batteries were below 3 volts when the rig was delivered. I separated the wires and hit each battery with a 12 volt dumb charger overnight. Then I used the NOCO on each battery for about three days...

    M998 front pinball pintle hitch?

Anyone have a set up to tow from the front of their HMMWV? I may want to use my 998 to position light aircraft on a Flightline. Thinking about having my buddy fab me an adapter plate to drop a pinball on the front. Really wasn’t excited about reinventing the wheel so to speak. Anyone already...

Congratulations! Yes! I took my M998 for a warm up, clear out the cobbs drive yesterday. Went down into Terre Haute. Got up to 55 (and I can still hear, barely!) once. Only forgot the manual signal twice. Embarrassing. Was a great drive. Wipers worked, washer worked, heater... didn’t need it...

They sent me a temproary tag just like the one on my new car parked riight next to it in my garage. An actual truck license plate should show up in the next few days. My Title and registration are for a regular truck, normal rules apply. I have some insurance restrictions on when, where and how...

My Indiana title came FEDEX this AM. The title is a “regular” title for a truck less than 11000 pounds. This is good news considering two documents that I sent with my packet to the Indianapolis head office had big red letters stamped on them. The plate and registration should follow directly...

Too late, the pot is stirred. I sent a polite and thoughtful request for clarification and reconsideration to my state representative and the BMV commissioner. Yes, we are very fortunate to have this program in our state. But it seems there's a disconnect between the program rule and it's...

Yes, I agree. In fact I told the girl I have print outs from November that are very contrary to what they are now saying. And she agreed. And so did her supervisor. It's a mess. And they have to fix it again. What a CF.

There is no savings, you just get to NOT display a regular licence plate. Got a call back from the BMV. Rule changed AGAIN over lunch. Now you don't have to display a registration/vin/serial number on the back of the vehicle at all. You only have to display it on either side. Yes, you have to...

Just got a call from the state BMV central office. The latest wording, is now that the serial number has to be displayed on three sides. As verified with her manager, the ruling and wording changed last month. I explained that no other vehicles in Indiana have to show a plate or identification...

    Snow?!

That's one of the things I was curious about. Canvas versus hard top? Mine had decent heat on the passenger side when it was about 40 outside. But now it's way below freezing and it looks like the snow is here to stay for quite a while (unusual in Indiana). Curious about many characteristics...

They didn't say, and I didn't ask. I would expect them to process it as quickly as any branch would. So if they get it on their desk Tuesday (if they don't already have it), I would expect they will contact me before the end of the week with final costs before they process my credit card, then...

How’s your Humvee in the snow?

WireFox is correct. In order to just display military markings on your 25+ year old military vehicle, you have to mail a packet to The main office in Indy. Everyone else, grab your vin check and your BOS and head to your local branch. Paperwork should be on their desk Tuesday AM.

Stopped at the local PD to make inspection arrangements. "Is it here?" Maybe I should have just driven it. "When you want it done?" When it's convenient for you. "I'll send a man right over." No fee, either! Patrolman was 20 minutes behind me. "Our department has two of these. Yours is...

Since it appears that Indiana likes BOS over SF97, I'm going to include one in my packet to the state BMV for proper historic military vehicle registration. I bought it the day my M998 became available, it came FedEx in about a week. Next time I'll just get a BOS from the get go. Merry Christmas!
