    Started noticing some front end shaking and popping while turning. So i jacked up the front end for a shake down to find that up and down is tight but left and right shaking has allot of play what could this be tie rods perhaps(have torn boots but i keep grease in them)

    I had same problem felt like a flat tire steering wheel shaking all the. Ended up being my bearings on the front were shot. Shake the front end left and right see if it moves.
