Hi Guys I need a Transmission for my M936A2
Can I use a transmission out off a M923 or M925 5 ton truck
Would this be a direct replacement or do I need to change things first
I do not have a M936 Transmission to take things off
PLease help and be informative as to how I do this if it is...
I have a M35A3 with 395 tires and did 53 MPH on the Alaska convoy trip for me 12000 Miles round trip.
The duece did fine at 2450 RPM on the Freeway to Alaska and back
The convoy speed was 35 MPH and we had no problems I even had even wear on my tires
The other M35A3 in my groups all had to buy...
My M35A3
with stock tires 14.5 x 20 top speed is 48 MPH
with 395/85/20 tires you can make about 54 MPH at 2600 RPM very smooth and quit (No noise)
Transmission is running smooth
I just came off the Alcan HWY trip 10,000.00 miles roundtrip no problems with the truck
I removed the CTIS system...
As a general rule when a bolt goe into some thing it is coarse tread
And when 2 pieces are bolted together it is fine
Now if you want to change all off your bolts you better not sell the truck because the next guy will have a problem off knowing whether it is coarse or fine.

lug wrench
I have used the lug wrench I believe it is
This is the one you turn it has like 400 to one ratio it takes off all my nuts off
I also bent a standard bar
Remember you always trun to rear for loosing the nuts,
not mine but some one on this SS net told us.
Now the reduction wrench...
deuce
Just remove one side all axles and than she will roll
roll her on to the trailer and find out at home what is wrong
Or both sides if you have to.:deadhorse:
Willy
One SS member made it very clear for me to remember wich way to turn the wrench
Turn it always to the back to loosen and turn forward to tide the nuts
It's wel worth repaeting I wish I had thought off that

You can mount a 24 volt light bulb in between your ground and your baterie.
Then when starting to disconnect thing if the light goes out you have your short.

They are for sale at Ebay
I found it cost as much for just the glass as it cost to buy new in box
with all new metal and rubber
He has 16000 off them
Willy
I believe the ratings are ment for off road
Hence you may double the capacity on the Hwy
A 1 1/2 ton trailer could easely carry or hold 3 ton on the Hwy

The big tire every one likes so much does not fit on my A3 deuce it is to big for the spare tire space.
If some had told me or talked about than I could have saved severel 100 dollars
and not buying 7 tires but only 6 as it does not fit:evil:
