I just wanted to let you guys know that GL was very forgiving and gave me an SF97 for my deuce even after being 2 years late on my application. I turned it in as a... 1953 STUDEBAKER M35A2 but they must have not liked that, so the SF97 reads... 1953 AM GENERAL M35A2 Now, I have to go and...

I saw from another thread other people using International Titling Services...says it's about $200 to get a title, but you have to send a notarized Bill of Sale...and that would be another headache for me...unless I just make one up between me and a relative and get it notarized! [thumbzup]

just did a search for it...came up with: UTICA-BEND CORP this is getting better and better! if I did my research correctly, Utica-Bend was established only after Curtiss Wright bought the Studebaker-Packard plant in 1956... ok, I think I'm getting more into this than I wanted to... I will...

Is it true that if the serial number starts with an "M"...it's manufactured by STUDEBAKER? If so, should I request for an SF 97 on a 1953 STUDEBAKER M35A2...please correct me if I'm wrong...trying to get this sent out by the end of the week.

WOW! Thanks, Carnac! I guess I should have asked you first before assuming it was a USMC vehicle. It's older than what I expected. It now has a Hercules Multi-Fuel Engine, so I guess it was converted into an A2.

BTW, I don't think GL knew the year either because they failed to mention it on the AD when it was still active on their site, it only stated: ** STARTS AND RUNS ** M35A2 6X6, 2 1/ 2 TON CARGO TRUCK, MILES-10, 280, HOURS-431, MISSING TOP/ COVER, ** STARTS AND RUNS **

nothing on the passenger side frame except "2061"...which is also stamped on the driver's side frame. the only other set of numbers I was able to see on the frame after stripping almost all the paint off (behind the driver side wheel) is the same one I posted before: "M42354"

thanks...i just want to make sure i do the paperwork correctly...the YEAR and the VIN is the only thing holding me up.

got that...this is what i got after i used some paint stripper...is it me or that just seems so oddly short for a VIN? M42354

I have a deuce I purchased from GL in 2007 out at Camp Lejeune. I never tried to title it until now...I am requesting an SF 97 for it, but I can't seem to find what year to put it as. The data plates are missing and these are the only information I can come up with: NSN - 2320000771616 Both...
