    WWII M4/M5/M3 Track connectors & Pins

    Apparently the pin is part of the track and the grove is angled such that the connector causes a torque on the pin causing the track to want to roll up. A pin that is able to move within the track causes a 'dead block'. Or so I've learned from "Modeler's Guide to the Sherman Tank" ....

    Couple questions on the tracks with external track guides. It appears mechanically (from photos) that the connector locks to the pin(s). That is, the pin does not rotate at the connector? Does the pin rotate within the track itself? It also appears from photos that the coupler is welded to...
