Operating a CUCV with no alternator belts-help!

Both of my alternator belts broke on the way in to work today. They broke about five minutes apart of each other, that's my luck. I checked the remains and they were dry rotted. My question is, is it safe to drive my vehicle without the alternators for a period of time? I know in the TM's it...

Why do some cucv's need EUC's and others don't?

I have since learned that the number must be below 6000 or above 10000 in order to obtain a SF-97. If it falls inbetween, such as 8000 or something, then it will be a scrap sale. That is how it was explained to me by GL anyway.

I went to start my m1008 for the first time in 2 weeks yesterday and it was totally dead, not even the horn or headlights would work. I checked the batteries and they were completely dead. I charged them both back up and attempted to start the truck. As I turned the key to the on postion, I...

    M813a1 advantages over a m925?

Lockers Thank you everyone for your input. I have another question. I read that the 809 trucks do not have lockers in them except for a few marine corp outfitted ones. Is that true? Also, do all the M939 series trucks come with lockers or is it a special additon as well?

    M813a1 advantages over a m925?

I am finally thinking about getting a 5 ton. I want a M925 or a M813a1. From general searching I see that the M925 series 5 ton has a few upgrades over the M813a1 series trucks. I was wondering if the M813a1 would have any advantages over the newer M925 besides probably being cheaper? Any...

    M1008 TH400 Shift Issue

It would not shift at all. I got the truck up to about 25 as I did not want to take it further cause the engine sounded like it was all reved out at that speed. I did not replace my vacuum line because it looked to be free from cracks or other damage. Also, I did not check the vacuum valve...

    M1008 TH400 Shift Issue

My newly aquired M1008 would not shift out of 1st gear. I researched the -20 and -34 manuals. I performed the first step listed in the -34; I unplugged the downshift electrical connector from the drivers side of the transmission and then operated the M1008 to check shifting points. It seemed...

Why do some cucv's need EUC's and others don't?

TRANSFER OF TITLE TO VEHICLES: Government Liquidation will supply a SF97 to customers under the following conditions: The vehicle must have been sold in a "useable" property sale (Sale No. is less than 6000). GL will not issue SF97s for vehicles sold in Scrap material sales (Sales No. is greater...
