Hi Mike I’ll check if I’ve got pictures. Been a little while. Had to drop whole assembly. PM me your cell and I’d be happy to talk to you.

    CV BOOTS!

Hi all I’m assuming this is ok to post. There have been a few post here from people looking for MTVR CV boots. I was one of them. Ended up buying a whole front axle. Someone has had the tenacity to get a run of these manufactured by the original supplier. At least he told me that. I ordered a...

    Friggin start box light

Hi all, I’ve got an ‘86. 6.2 etc. I’ve had my KDS box blow a component twice now over the years. Think it’s a power transistor but it’s been a while. Fixed it and it works. I didn’t want to get stuck somewhere so I did the parallel harness for the glow plugs and left original tied in...

    What is this?

Just realized it’s tough to see the smaller right side hose. Kinda goes up and off to the right at an angle. So left solenoid fan, right air horn.

    What is this?

Larger hose left is fan. Smaller hose right is air horns. No loop around. I assume this is correct as all works on mine.

    RTV/Silicone

Does anybody else’s MTVR have silicone all over EVERY electrical and air connection? It’s got the usual, I guess CARC, coating on every line and hose and wire in spades then all the connections are smeared with silicone RTV. It’s surprisingly annoying and difficult as it adds thickness to...

    M998 6.2, 3 speed trans adjusting questions

7-ton MTVR steering gear box leaking

Was thinking maybe mrap vehicles? I called and spoke with Chris at OES. He said he’d sold them to others for MTVR. Maybe he was mistaken. I think someone posted them as “MTVR”, others saw this and had those boxes and just followed.

7-ton MTVR steering gear box leaking

I finally got mine out. Seals in. Shaft cleaned up and back in. Big job. Learned a few things which others might find helpful. There are several boxes out there being sold as for MTVR which are not. First clue is overall length and missing 2 additional bolt mounts on top of box. There are the...

    M998 6.2, 3 speed trans adjusting questions

My HMMWV was one of the original old ones I redid prior to the current release so I’m a little behind the times, driveshaft e brake etc. 6.2 3 speed. I sourced the mechanical modulator at that time. It has cable linked to throttle cable which drives pin in modulator on side transmission...

Need axle boot for front for MTVR

Not sure that’ll work. Axle shaft is about 3-1/2” on Mtvr. Other end about 7”.

Need axle boot for front for MTVR

I've posted on this a while back. Does anyone know of any sources at a somewhat decent price? How many of us need one or two? I spoke with Con-Vel Inc , they no longer deal with them. Got one "Part Target" quote $260 each quantity 4, $500 ea. quantity 1! Another from WB parts $350 ea quanity...

    Great idea.

7-ton MTVR steering gear box leaking

I’ll need to pull mine. It seems like whole steering assembly bracket with both boxes needs to be dropped? I’m planning on putting forklift with extensions underneath to get it out, remove arm and unbolt box. I’ve only tested one of the 8 bolts holding on the bracket. 4 foot breaker bar with...
