    Wrecker vise differences, Anchor/Wilton

My 816 has an Army applied big Yost 33C on it. There were no modifications to the plate, as it has the same base bolt pattern as the Wilton C2.

I power wash it in spring and late summer, damp cloth frequently for parades and shows. I use a semi gloss which helps too!

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Painted mine with Behr 6 years ago and still looks good. The truck sat outside for most of that time also. I’ve painted 3 with it, and all turned out very well.

    Bumper markings

From what I can remember, the markings on the bumpers are as follows: A rectangle around the number meant it was part of FSSG (Force Service Support Group) A diamond around the number meant it was a Division unit vehicle. In the M151s case 2nd Marine Division Now the number……. 2542 on the...

Don’t know why it didn’t post, but I sold it to a heavy equipment transport company in Indiana, as they wanted to use it for display purposes and parades for advertising their company.

    M123 and M125 10-tons

123Mack, The M123 video on display at a car show was mine. I had bought it off the guy in Jacksonville some 7 years ago. After purchase, the truck was in poor condition, cracked door glass, windshields....I had replaced a lot of sheet metal like the fenders, hood, doors, etc.... not to mention...

    M123 1400x24 tires needed

I just recently sold my M123 and for the 5 or 6 years that I owned and restored it, I searched for extra tires constantly. Checked Winers, Adelmanns, etc.. to no avail. The tires they did have were beyond serviceable, and would have probably fell apart after a few miles. I found 4 NDs on EBay...

    m62 bridge plate number

Ron, The bridge plate numbers for the M62 are as follows: Empty 16 Cross Country 21 Highway 24 For all intents and purposes, the only classification number widely used was the CC number. These were taken from 746-93 dated October 1964. So go with 21. Russ

    Why no Multi-Fuel engine?

The multifuel does lack power in a 5 ton. I have Cummins and Mack powered 5 tons and there is definately a difference. On a steep hill by my place, a Cummins will go 27mph, Mack 24, and the multifuel 18....If you arent in a hurry like me, its no big deal. As for reliability, Ive had mine for 9...

    ID Mack engined M 54

One note to add...looking at the above photo, its extremely hard to tell by the angle of the photo of what Im talking about. The hose of discussion is connected right at the hood door. The multi and Macks both have the hose connecting the can to the elbow clearly seen in the photo.

    ID Mack engined M 54

Yes, indeed they are the same, except for one variation. The Mack intake pipe is different than a multifuel under the hood. On the outside, the way you can tell is this...A multifuel elbow from the air cleaner to the hood is one piece with an integral bracket affixed to the hinged hood side...

Transfer Case Seals and Part numbers

I have a few transfer case seals laying around. Will they work as propeller shaft seals too? Are they the same part number? I have 2 differential seals that are leaking, just wondering if the T-case seals were the same.

    5-Ton Noise Levels

Having alot of time driving all 5 ton series, The loudest are the multifuels. Straight pipe, whistle, and fan noise all in one. Next is the 800 series...although they have mufflers, you have the constant drive fan which is loud, and the stack mounted in front of the cab, which you can hear...

    Deuce wire harness

Hi all, I have a M54a2 that its rear wire harness is toast. (insulation cracked, rotted, wires are turning green, ready to snap) Ive called many places, and its impossible to find an NOS rear harness for it. (no 800 series either) A few have NOS M35a2 rear harnesses. I realize that it is...

Im thinking that was one of the rarer Mack powered M54A1 trucks....They had to pick that one, didnt they?

    No juice

Bjorn, The truck in question is an M54a1 with a Delco-Remy Regulator box, not an 800 series control box. Are they similar? Thanks for the reply.

    No juice

Hi all, Problem here.....Go to start the truck, turn the battery switch on and nothing. Gages dont respond, no low air buzzer, Nothing. Batteries are good. Changed out the battery switch and still nothing. So I proceeded to start the engine by arcing the starter relay. Engine fired right up...

WTT: 5 ton wrecker M543A2 + M35A2C + M105A2 for something super nice, Dallas, TX area

The fording kits are for the multifuel. I put one on my 54a2 and it worked fine. Mine also said it was for a 51a2. Basically, I dont see a problem installing it on any 5 ton multifuel. A word of caution...My kit was a complete boxed kit, only for the outside hardware......Air cleaner extension...

    Another titling question

Hi all, A few years ago, I thought I read a post about getting a title with only a bill of sale. Was there some outfit in Georgia or someplace that does that kind of thing? Im purchasing an older MV with nothing but a bill of sale (no SF97 or anything). If anyone has any info, it would be...
