Case for 45K drag winch (or complete winch)

Broke the case for the 45k drag winch on a 800 series wrecker. Looking for a replacement or possibly a complete winch depending on cost. Let me know. Yes I have checked with Eastern and Memphis. Thanks, Gregg

    Huey, UH1M

Will, have plenty of time in rotors from my AF days, including UH1H. To bad the engine is gone as they had an electric starter that rotated everything until the jet lit off. would have been cool for spinning the blades. Great job ton the bird so far.

    Missile Move

We had a great time and a lot of prep work to get the system ready to move. We had planned to replace the tires on the original rims but found that they are the exact dimensions as M54 5 ton wheels (both bolt circle and center hole dimensions) so we replace them with 4 tire and wheels we had at...

    Missile Move

This weekend we (New Mexico Museum of Military History - NMMMH) move a Vietnam era demilitarized SA2 surface to air missile and launcher from its long term storage area 40 plus miles to the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History for permanent loan and display. Unfortunately the M52A2 was...

    Harbor Freight/Northern Tool welders???

And fixed by an 18 year old. Come to think about that - had a young crew chief (probably 20) that saved my bacon when the Chief Master Sargent said the bird was good to go. The kid read ALL of the back data on the bird and found a discrepancy that the CMS didn't know about. :)

New Mexico members check in here!

You need to stop by the New Mexico Museum of Military History, 1717 6th St NW, ABQ. about 1/2 mile south of Interstate 40. On the west side of the street and look for 2 Quonset Huts. Bring the kids and step into the past. Gregg

    CH-53E HMH 772

I knew the copilot on the Hill crash. The rotor blades took off the top of the cockpit and destroyed the throttle controls. It also cracked the main transmission case and dumped all of the oil. The crew was pretty shaken up and couldn't figure out how to shut the aircraft down so it eventually...

    CH-53E HMH 772

When the Air Force started to convert the B/C models to J model Pave Lows, we picked up 6 A models from the USMC. They weighed about 2/3 the amount of the B/C and the AF put the upgraded powertrains in them. Turned a slug into a hotrod!!! They could hover OGE at 10k plus, loved the A+ models we...

Only Surviving XB-70 Moved from Museum Hangar

Thank God for Rotor heads!!! Another good one is the Naval Museum of WWII at Pearl Harbor. It is on Ford Island next to the Arizona, Missouri, and several other ships and subs. Not very big but some neat displays. Gregg

Lockheed T33 well some of it

I would love to have an A37. One of my instructors in pilot training was an A37 pilot in VN. Taught me a lot. Lots of time in its little brother (T37). Neat project.
