    Need info on tailgate hardware

Gentlemen, Still trying to restore my '77 M880 but it is slow going finding parts and I can't find anyone in my area who knows anything about these trucks. My issue today will be simple for most of you so be gentle. Finally found a tailgate for my '77 but after trying to mount it I've hit a...

Rookie looking for M880 brake line advice

I agree, sliding the new line down from the back sounds like a good idea and I will do that. I ordered the kit already and the less I have to touch the frame the better. It's covered in rust scale and I haven't even begun the monumental task of rust removal, repair and encapsulation. My head...

Rookie looking for M880 brake line advice

Bob H, All I can say for sure at this point is that there was a broken brake line on the driver's side inside the frame rail just behind the cab of the truck. I didn't feel anything else in there with the exception of what I believe may have been the emergency brake cable which felt secure...

Rookie looking for M880 brake line advice

I did find a metal brake line kit on eBay? It has precut straight lengths, unions, flared ends and nearly 20' of extra line included. Seems like a good way to go, any thoughts or bad idea to order this kit?

Rookie looking for M880 brake line advice

Hello all, I rarely post here on SS but I'm looking for some input/advice from some of the veteran M880 owners out there. I just started my M880 restoration today by replacing the power steering pump and the master cylinder. Upon bleeding the master cylinder (no air bubbles in the reservoir) I...

    M880 grill, what's a fair price?

LOL for $20 I'd turn it into an industrial cheese grater or just throw it in the trash. You suppose it'd be worth more if I stripped the paint or resprayed it a different color? Just wondering. If I got in excess of $100 I'd be happy then I could get some body panels or something I need for the...

    M880 grill, what's a fair price?

Looking for some feedback about the value of a grill. Of course everything is worth what someone else will pay for it, but I'm just wondering what you guys think. I have the original front grill from my '77 M880 the one from my Avatar. Don't have pics at the moment, but it's painted green, two...

    Got my power steering donor!

Rats, someone beat me to it, but I could use a set (or at least a driver's side) arm rest pad(s) also :-(. Too bad we're so far apart, I'm desperate for a tailgate, but can't find one any where around here local and freight charges are murder for stuff like that. ( I would know, I work in...

    Saved one! 1975 M880

Good to know, thanks. Fortunately mine was already converted to power steering when I bought it. Guess it's a trade off for all of the body panels I have to replace that are rusted out lol. It's been a slow but steady quest for parts, but that's been half of the fun :-D

    Saved one! 1975 M880

Nice save!! Looks to be in great shape minus a few missing parts. Mine has the same missing parts, it's fair share of rust and it cost me $1000, so well done on the save. Thanks for posting pics after the lift kit, I was kicking around the idea of a 4" lift and 35's, now I have a good idea of...

    M880 part time conversion question

As the hubs go, I'm just going by what I've read in other posts and forums that the bearings wear out quickly. I plan to lift the truck 3-6" to accomodate 33 or 35 inch tires on 16 inch rims. No off roading is planned but this will be a daily driver for 20 miles a day so I can't take the chance...

    M880 part time conversion question

Thank you all for the input, sounds like I should skip the conversion kit as it won't correct any of the issues. Guess I'll look into hub upgrades and roll with it. Glad I asked!

    M880 part time conversion question

Hello, I'm a new member, first time post. I recently acquired a 1977 Dodge M880. The truck starts and runs strong and is in fairly good shape despite being stationed in upstate NY and being subjected to harsh winters and salt conditions, then being put in service for 8 years for the DOT. I...
