Started working on my M1101.
Got what I was told is a M1102 cargo platform, put it on and it is going to need some modification to work.
Once that is settled, will add a pair of M998 troop seats. Hopefully will still be able to use the tarp/cover. If not will add pipe to the seat backs...
Hello!
I bought what I was told is a cargo platform for a M1102 trailer.
My plan is to use it as a bed platform. The kids are in Cub Scouts and want to go camping this summer, so it's time to get the trailer ready!
It does not fit, so I am wondering if anyone know what it is I do have...
Carnac, I'll buy the Artillery Vic-1 set. Do you have any cables or headsets that'd work with them? Want to add an intercom to my kid's tank.
Also, I am looking for four lugnuts for my m1101 wheels. I found a junked GM wheel which works as a spare, but the lug nuts off it are the right...
Slight update.
The truck lights work fine with nothing attached to them. Door open or closed, everything works.
Drove out to my BILs farm and hooked up my 20 ft trailer, and it too works as it should, doors open or not.
So it's not the truck, or the connection on the truck.
I traced...
That is a good question. Let me check...huh.
The truck lights work no matter what. door open, door closed, all doors open, three open, whatever. Even tried turning on the lights on the camper shell. Still get the left turn signals on the front, rea mirror, and rear of the truck.
But...
Got my M1101 the other day. Got a cable from Eriks Surplus to convert from the military connector for the lights to my Ford F150. Works great.
Except.
When I open a door on the truck, the left light goes out.
Just the left light. As soon as I shut the door, the left light comes back...
So I've got a fake/replica(ish) tank. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/d3l55bcgo2i0tn4/AACi0LmivsGAvHXqy-WadsLza?dl=0
I am trying to get it restored/rebuilt and get it running. One of the things I'll need is an intercom system, but I'll also need power and such inside the turret to run a radio...
My brother-in-law wants me to convert it to wheels, but I'd rather put tracks back on her (since she's pink we've taken to calling her Helen Heels [**** in Heels, get it] ). I'm trying to get more info from the previous owner, but so far have not gotten anything. Would like to know what it was...
it followed me home. :)
Took some better pics of it. My three year old thinks it's awesome, my wife said it's live-with-able, the neighbors think it's cool, and a brazillion people honked and waved at us as we towed it home.
Talked to the owner tonight, a friend is trying to sell it for him so this was our first conversation.
He said in the 60s his dad bought it from a farmer. Was told it was a WWII tank, and either his dad or the farmer had made the turret. Then it sat in his dad's field till the 80s, when he...
Well, this'll sound dumb, but I thought "Well, it is supposed to be made of aluminium, and the steel turret is gone, along with the engine and transmission and everything else..."
But yeah, when you point that out, it does look fake. Ugh. Dude swore up and down it was real.
May offer him...
This Sunday I'm going to look at a tank hull. The seller says it's WWII, but the picture looks like it's a M551 Sheridan, to me. Is that what it looks like to y'all?
It's had the turret and everything else removed, the previous owner made a fake turret for his kids, then a few months ago...
