Just reading. Couldn't tell you where I read it.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Streaks are surfactants in the paint coming out. A wash or couple of rains would clear it. Normally the wood would soak that up, but the surfaces we are putting it on are non porous.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I actually did call Behr with a question and they picked up the phone and answered it surprisingly.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Did my Jimmy a few months back (non MV) used a HF sprayer and thinned out the paint quite a lot w/ floetrol and a tiny bit of water.

Sound proofing, is it worth the money and time?

What headset unit is that? I know of someone else looking for something like that.

Sound proofing, is it worth the money and time?

That lead will make a good barrier. Heavier the better. Not sure where you get lead sheeting from nowadays...

Sound proofing, is it worth the money and time?

Closed cell foam will not retain water like open-cell foam does. Open cell foam is like the sponge on your sink, vs neoprene like wetsuit material.

Sound proofing, is it worth the money and time?

You can sound deaden any vehicle, with enough time money and energy. But you need to do it right. Bedliner is not a sound deadener. It may help /w some rattles and lower the resonant frequency of the panel, but that's not going to remove the sound. You have to convert that sound energy...

M1010 for my daughter the field biologist

Not sure I understand why you have such a problem w/ the belt rubbing. These 6.2s were pretty widely used, and haven't really heard of this problem elsewhere. Was a bracket changed out on this such that the belt alignment is screwy?

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Well, I can say that here in phx @ 90 deg you need more than 4:1 flotrol. I mixed up at that ratio w/ a couple of oz's of water mixed in and the hf hvlp did kinda splatter. So the texture is pretty rough. However, I'm happy with it, covers up my crappy bodywork. lol I will also say I had...

A little late, but I had good luck finding a rare bearing for a wood working machine I was restoring at Accurate Bearing. http://www.accuratebearing.com/

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Oh, the other thing I discussed w/ Behr, is if it dries too fast, it will not have proper adhesion time. I did experiment w/ spraying it on a rack I'm putting on my truck, and it came out rough - I didn't mind though. I thinned significantly w/ water and it required more coats to get cover...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I called Behr because the can says not to apply above 85Deg - which won't bill till October here in Phx. Person on the line said it would end up w/ a rougher texture if done in the heat because it would dry before having a chance to flow and lay out flat. So maybe add some water/flotrol and...
