    Making Bows and Stakes?

If anyone else is interested, some screws that should work on the corners are these: http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/detail.ex?sku=94073 I used some from a local store that were the same spec except they were chromed and really expensive, but these will hopefully work too. I ordered some...

    Making Bows and Stakes?

I got some 1x3"s, they seem like they'll fit the corners and everything. Is there any reason besides authenticity to rip them down to 2 3/8"? Thanks for the help so far everyone. :)

    Making Bows and Stakes?

Has anyone ever made their own cargo bows and stakes? I'd like to try my hand at it if I can find measurements somewhere. Failing measurements I guess I'll have to find someone selling them and get measurements from there.

    Clutch Return Spring

After replacing my transmission and getting the proper free travel adjusted on the clutch pedal I noticed that it wont pop back up from the free travel portion of its movement. Once you get down to actually operating the clutch it comes back to the point where the free travel starts it just...

    Transmission model questions

That's what I figured, anyone know a place in Iowa or surrounding states that'd have one?

    Transmission model questions

Yep, that was a typo, it is a 3053A that I took out. The 6453 is at Trumps Trucks in Kahoka Missourri, 1-877-238-7409. Where can I get parts to rebuild one? It was ran without oil, and there's some damage to the top shaft. All the gear teeth look ok, but the smallest gear towards the front on...

    Transmission model questions

I took a busted 5053A transmission out of my truck, and I've been calling around to local junk yards and truck places looking for a new one, and one place said they have a 6453. Will this transmission fit, or is it for a five ton? What's the difference between the two? I think I read somewhere...

    Transmission parts

Re: RE: Transmission parts It's a 1967 m49, not sure what type of engine it has in it exactly, but it's a multifuel with no turbo.

    Transmission parts

Does anyone know of a good source for transmission parts or transmissions near Iowa? Or would I be better off replacing the whole transmission if somethings wrong with it?

    Loud Grinding Noise

The paint's a little different around where the front bumper is attached. The dataplate in the cab also says "w/w" at the end, I assumed that meant with winch but I don't know.

    Loud Grinding Noise

Would "M49 Clutch,& Pressure Plate" at http://www.saturnsurplus.com/m35/m35-2.htm be the correct parts? And would I be likely to need a new clutch disc too? ETA: Both of these bearings are part of the clutch assembly, right? And so it'd be just as easy to change the whole clutch out as to do...

    Loud Grinding Noise

I get a loud grinding noise when I let the clutch out, It gets quieter if I put the transfer case and transmission in neutral and let out on the clutch. The noise stops as long as the clutch is in. I'm pretty new to having a deuce, and I was wondering if this is a transfer case problem, or...

    Looking for first M35A2

What category are military vehicles under on GSA? Do they only run auctions on them sometimes?

    Looking for first M35A2

How much notice does government liquidation need for an inspection? Also, it seems all the auctions start on the 17th, and end on the 21st, how often do they run these? I've only got $500 right now, so I probably wont be getting one this time around  .

    Looking for first M35A2

My first thought was to go through a dealer, but I looked around a bit and didn't see any in iowa/western illinois/norther missouri. If anyone could point me in that direction I'd be greatful. You guys have been very helpful :D .

    Looking for first M35A2

How much would a commercial carrier charge for a 250 mile trip, approximately? Any recommendations on carriers? I've never driven one before, but I figured if I had trouble my father in law could get it home, he's a mechanic and former truck driver, and will be there when I pick it up.

    Looking for first M35A2

I've been interested in getting an M35 for a few months, and found this site about a week ago, and I figured this would be a good place to find answers to some questions I have :) . I was wondering what exactly was the process for getting an M35 from a place like government liquidation...
