    nhc350 to 6CTA8.3

I pulled the NHC 250 out because is was wore out...and swapped the 350 in with a few modifications I was able to get along with it just fine HP wise......yes in the the soft ground I do run low range and typically never over 3rd for field road travel.....the ground is too soft many times and...

    nhc350 to 6CTA8.3

Actually I was wondering if the 6CTA would give me more room behind the radiator...I need to install some screens to keep the radiator free of haylage and corn silage. so I was hoping to move the radiator back a few inches to accomate that. But if it's going to be a whole lot of switching and...

    nhc350 to 6CTA8.3

Original motor was NHC250 but I've switched it out to a turbo'd nhc350 due to lack of power in the fields and soft ground......now that engine is a bit weak (it was bought used) and needing attention again after four years running that engine. I see the BCIII's are still holding a price yet and...

is it possible to swap 7155 trans with older five speed in 923 truck?

the 817 Mod went so well for me last time can't help but want to do it again just wish there was a few more 817's available. can't do it right now but it always seems when you have the chance to do it a person cannot find the right vehicle or the right parts which is why I was asking about the...

is it possible to swap 7155 trans with older five speed in 923 truck?

sorry about the mix up on the trans ID. So....my question is this now then, would the MT654 trans stand up to an extra 100 Hp? I'm running a 350 BC III in the 817 right now. It was put in to give me that extra power in soft field conditions, which is why also I won't run anything but dual...

What is this noise, engine starts to die when it happens

agreed, air compressor would tick like that. not sure about pulling the rpm's down though, shouldn't do that unless maybe too high of pressure on the tank? Does it pull the rpm's down only when it's cold?

is it possible to swap 7155 trans with older five speed in 923 truck?

ok here it is, I like my old 817, would like to have another someday just from the stand point they are so simple to work on. My problem is 800 series trucks are getting hard to find on Gov planet and other sites. From what I see the 923 series five tons are almost the same as the 800 series...

hood scoops anyone? pics always welcome!!!!

I've seen it done, lots of times when guys put in different engines into the 800 series trucks, but what I'm wondering is if anyone has had one that really looks good? most of em that I've seen were just weld-em-up and git em out the door jobs. so how about it, anyone have fabrication pics...

My 5 ton was making a funny noise and now it won't start....

HUH??????? LOL love the screamin detroits, but can't work with em anymore, just to darn many headaches at the end of the day. 350 fuel mizer might be a good option, with turbo, simply drop the can off the side and replace with silencer in exhaust stack, good fuel economy, little extra...

what is this part, and what does it do

On my PCB box it was labeled as OEM Part ........... and then it said Southern Automotive Wholesalers. Here is a link for the PCB that would fit in my 800 series http://www.southernautomotive.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/33?osCsid=f5f0bfcf867b0c5cf0229029316490b4 looks like you have...

    NHC250 Cummins fuel rail pressure

I looked at the button but did not see a number on it, I just knew that I needed to be exchanging exact parts to get the same performance. The stack of washers on the back side of the plunger (or front depending on which way you look at it) totaled eight washers from the 350 and the 250 only...

    Bleeding Injector lines?

Don't know if this helps much in this situation but this past week we had a 478 Hercules run out of fuel in a White farm tractor,(bad fuel guage) couldn't get it to bleed up through the system by way of the hand pump, so we found a place where we could splice in a 12v lift pump in the line...

    NHC250 Cummins fuel rail pressure

JimK: I was really glad I found this thread today. My PT pump on my 350 was leaking so bad (throttle shaft) after a little while last year that I decided to put the pump from my 250 onto it and in theory get the problem resolved a little cheaper then say sending the pump in to have it rebuilt...

Top Stop vs Non Top stop...

wasn't too bad to convert, you'll have to switch the oil pans, get a new/longer sump suction hose, (you need to use the fittings originally on the 250 oil suction hose if you want to clear the 6by6 front drive knuckel) next cap off the front port in the switched 250 oil pan, and then switch...
