M931 Transfer Case Noise and Lockup

I have a M931 that I recovered out of Mississippi 3 yrs ago. It has been a real good running truck up until yesterday. I hooked up to the flatbed and loaded my JD 4430 tractor up and pulled it about 100 miles (to Reb87's place). After unloading the tractor I went down the road to unhook the...

    MEP-002 Outside

I have to move my generator outside for a few weeks. Will it be ok outside in the elements?? I plan on throwing a tarp on it when I get back up to the farm next weekend. I assume they are built to withstand more than a dry Nebraska winter. Thanks for the info!

More Power From NHC 250 in M939 Series Trucks With Allison Transmissions

I have a M931 that came out of Camp Shelby. I was disappointed with the performance of the truck. I had it almost a year before I finally decided to take it in to the shop. It would fall flat on any kind of a hill and when in neutral the rpm's were very slow to increase when the throttle was...

    M939 Alternator

I was trucking down the road the other day in my M931 to pick up a John Deere 4430 tractor that I had purchased and all of a sudden it started to stink something terrible in the cab. I looked down at the gages and noticed the alternator needle was up in the red zone. I looked under the seat...

    M931 Overheating

I have a M931 with the 250 Cummins in it. It has warmed up on me a few times. The coolant level is up and the belts are good and tight. I did not think the fan was kicking on so I installed the two bolts to lock the clutch up so it now runs all the time but still gets hot... Just wondering...

    m923 seems a little weak

I know my M 931 is the same way. I was bringing home seed and fertilizer the other day and I was down in first going up some of the larger hills. I spoke to several shops about my lack of power and was referred to a diesel shop that has been around for a lot of years. I spoke to them and...

    Replaced Axle Vents

So it is 1/8" pipe that will screw into the axle housing? I took the vent plug out of my 931 rear axle because of this same problem. Every time I took the check plug out the diff was pressurized, and oil is leaking out the front pinion seal.

M931's Home from Hattiesburg (Camp Shelby)

The truck averaged a little over 5 mpg. I think we spent about $725 on fuel for the truck.

    900 series rear end

What kind of rear ends are used in these trucks? I think I need a pinion seal and not sure where to look for one. Thanks Tj

M931's Home from Hattiesburg (Camp Shelby)

Sealed bid on GL. I bid on three of them hoping to get one. The one I didnt win had a ~ $5000 bid on it. I really liked the fact that my wife or brother can help me haul this fall because of the auto trans and low range. I am the only one with a Class A CDL.

M931's Home from Hattiesburg (Camp Shelby)

We drove about 8 hrs on Sunday and then 18.5 hrs on Monday. We drove in snow/sleet and freezing fog for the last 8 hrs on Monday. We should have had extra windshield wipers with us because the ones on the truck were pretty dried out. My brother was following in the Pickup and tried several...

M931's Home from Hattiesburg (Camp Shelby)

We farm and will put a small grain trailer behind one of them. I thought they would be great for hauling grain from the field to bin, or town since it is about 12 miles of gravel road to town. I would also like to get a flatbed of some kind. Maybe a 871??
