What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Today, here in Kentucky, I was finally able to LEGALLY license my M998! I had to take the SF-97, along with the reassignment document, and my invoice to show taxes had been paid, as well as proof of insurance to the clerk's office and was given a tag! It has been a good day.

    HMMWV Overheat Q's and pictures

Mine would run hot, 240 plus, until I was told I had a 6.2 fan on the 6.5 engine! It came with the new engine installed but someone got in a hurry and forgot to put on the correct fan. Once I changed the fan it has ran 200 degrees all day long!

    M998 HMMWV Rebuild/Repair Alexandria, VA

You are right about the speed thing. I have a 1969 Chevelle SS that I bought in 72. Love the car and I USED to drive very fast. Now, I too have gone over to the slow side of vehicles. Most are olive drab. Still enjoying life!

    M998 HMMWV Rebuild/Repair Alexandria, VA

Welcome from Kentucky! Yes, the green disease is real just as Sisu has said. Now you will need an M1101 or M1102 trailer to pull behind your HMMWV! I have a couple for sale if you are interested in coming to Ky.

    M1101

Yes Trailboss, I was confused until I reread the original query. That was why I mentioned the surge/emergency brake may have been engaged. Thank you for pointing it out. This brake does indeed point to the rear of the trailer. Is it possible the pads may have came loose or be stuck and causing...

Perhaps it is as some of you said, the surge brake may have been slightly engaged.

    M1101

Gentlemen, I just went out to check my 3 M1102 trailers and none of them would allow the brake handles to point to the rear at all. They did fully release and still were not even pointing straight up. They were just short of straight up, ever so slightly leaning just a bit forward. And yes, they...

What temp should the 6.2 run??

The 6.5 NA came with the serp setup from the military, but had the wrong fan. The system turns clockwise, so I had to put the reverse rotation fan on to get it to pull air through the rad. So is this incorrect Retiredwarhorses?

What temp should the 6.2 run??

Also figured out after speaking with someone I had the wrong fan on mine. I ordered a reverse rotation fan and installed it on my serpentine setup last week. Now, instead of blowing air out the front, it is pulling air in the way it should.
