Thats normal for them to dance alittle if you get them too tight it will start bending your generator shaft. I use gates #7630 on the generator and gates #7500 on the power steering.
Installed two red top optima batteries and adapters in my m1009 on 8-11-11 and one has already crapped out. Under warranty for now, inerstate said the cold weather really affects them. Well it is nothing but cold here now. Pulled them out and put duralast golds in no more getting stranded. The...
Driving home down highway after parade on monday deuce sputtered like it was starving for fuel and quit. upon checking petcock drains on filter housings they had no fuel in them. left primary drain open turned ignition/tank pump switch on fuel sprayed out and restarted ok. checked tank vent...
I run full synthetic lubes in my m35a2 gun truck and m998 hmmwv. Mobil one synthetic gear oil and rotella synthetic engine oil. I noticed alot less drag on deuce rears in the winter time and better starting. The drawback is if you have a leak it will get worse with synthetic.
I put ten brand new titan 373s on and at 3700 miles the front ones are wearing bad . frontend was aligned and all parts changed before install. The rear ones are wearing ok. It is a gun truck with the extra weight from mount and cab plate contributing to that wear also.
I have a silver eagle m1101 with top only weights 1460lbs and can haul 2000lbs. The nice thing is unloaded you can grab the pintle eye and move it around yourself. There has been a series of mwos as the different generations have come along. Being aluminum there is no rusting and comon parts...
I have talked with various companies that rehab hmmwvs. They say the hmmwvs that do alot of fording especially in salt water developed frame rust from the insde out. In some cases requiring frame replacement. Due to lack of drain holes in lower frame section. Has anyone came across this or heard...
I was using the rotella 15w40w for years and have recently switched to rotella synthetic in my m35a2 and hmmwv m998. The downfall on the synthetic besides price is it can cause more leaking if you already have some.
hmmwv tachometer
I put a tachometer in my 1987 m998 6.2 recently. It is showing 2400 rpm @55mph. I have 36x12.5x16.5 tires on it. I also did not use a2 duct cover and ran the wiring outside heater duct using harness retainers it is out of the way and looks fine. I usually keep it at 55mph on...
www.dotfastenersdirect.com 888-285-4632 #91-xx-783157-1a they have all kinds of military fasteners and install tools.there is a minimum purchase $50.00.
The problem with balancing non directional military tires is you can not just take a tire off run it up to the truck shop and have it done.you have to run the tires and warm them up to get the flat spots out from sitting.or you will just be trying to balance the flat spot.some shops can balance...
Here is what tech told me at arvin meritor/rockwell. tighten inner nut to 100ft lbs while turning back off one turn and retighten to 50ft lbs back off up to a 1/3 turn with no more than .005 endplay.outer nut gets torque to 100ft lbs min. to 200ft lbs max. this will allow for locking tab alignment.
I mounted mine between the sring seat and the passenger seat on the center trans cover just behind shifter. at a 45 angle far enough back so that it does not affect shifting.the boxs for cvc helmets mounted under dash on each side.plus a box in the back on the front rack
