Hi, Greatings from Denmark. I have several deuces - and I would say thet are very reliable, considering the age, if you maintain them well.
For german contacts, I would urge you to visit www.m201.de - Einar has a forum, buy ans sell section, and a webshop with parts for the M35.
Hi - if you have acces to facebook, there is a nice group "M6/M35" which contains a lot of nice pictures of the norwegian deuces.
I have one under restauration - technical info is in the TM´s covering the duece.
I have no idea of how many that were produced, but the M624 only exists in a very...
No one who has acces to split drawings of the winch, or who knows the TM number?
(The ones in the Deuce TM are not detailed enough - I need to take apart the winch completely)
I will check the transfer case next - my other 3 deuces are w. air engaged frontaxle. They do not have the same noise. (I also have a transfer case in stock, if the old sprag type should be the problem)
Hi,
I have a Studebaker M35A1, w. sprag type transfer case.
Driving in high gear (4 & 5th), high range I have excessive gear noise.
Worst in 5th gear, and increasing w. rpm.
In low range no noise occur, even if I run it at max rpm in 5th.
I checked and changed gear oil on main gear box.
Any...
Pretty sure its a M35A1 (horizontal exhaust)
Its an earlier M35 model, the engine and horizontal exhaust is getting rare.
Main difference is smaller bore (427cui compared to 478cui on the LDT465 engine) and another turbo. Works fine, just make sure not to over rev. it.
If you want C turbo and...
Hi Swede, welcome to SteelSoldiers.
It is a LDS427 turbo. Show us some pics of the truck and engine tag please.
I have a M35A1 with one of these, works great.
Hi, Norwegian M621 (and other variants) have the same electrical setup as the stock M35.
M35 as used in for instance Germany had extra side markers. One red and one orange/yellow each side, and extra indicator lamps (lolly pops)
I have not found TM´s covering these extra lights.
I have both a LDS427 and a LD465, there is no difference in how the handle with alternative fuels. I run a lot of WMO and hydraulic oil - with no problems at all.
Running the truck for "free" is a nice benefit!
You would need a PTO w. front and rear output.
I would quess that they are pretty rare? I fortunally have one on my M624 (norwegian version of M342 deuce dump truck)
In Denmark it is no problem having MV´s as a hobby, we have a few good associations (www.DMKF.dk - private association, www.jdrveteranpanser.dk - private association connected to one of the army regiments) for instance, and we actually work with the ministry of defense and National museum on...
