Would love any info you have on the under dash unit? make, model or what to look for?

    rassd71 1970 Deuce Build

In the nature of some type of an update I've installed battery trays into the cab and made battery box seat bases for both sides. The truck batteries will go under the passenger seat (like the do in an arctic kit) with the 'house batteries' or 12v system under the drivers seat. The previous...

    rassd71 1970 Deuce Build

Sorry for the delayed response, I'd actually forgotten that I had started this thread. The seller never did follow through on the commitments made for the missing parts. The great folks and 'Those Military Guys' were a great help in putting some needed pieces together. The progress has been...

    rassd71 1970 Deuce Build

Thank you Rusty, I'll need to go through the TM's for that maintenance, but agree with you, on the safety first. It's not going to be leaving the yard until it's been gone through front to back. A friend is a reservist in the army and her mos is working on these things, well not these as the...

    rassd71 1970 Deuce Build

Thank you! I've already downloaded all the TMs I could find relating to the Deuce, but I'll be honest, I haven't invested the time, now that it's here, I'm definitely more motivated. Now it's real. Despite having paid for it back in Sept, it wasn't real until it was in my yard. It most...

    rassd71 1970 Deuce Build

Thank you an electric horn makes sense. I'll just block it off. I'm not sure how much was done by the previous owner or the military. The previous owner told me nothing but 'stories', many of which have proven to be BS. I'm still trying to get the paperwork & dataplate from him. I've given...

    rassd71 1970 Deuce Build

And this is how it stands with the sheet metal mocked up (some fitting will be needed, before paint) and with a 4 headlight modification (which still needs to be wired in. The bumper was cut with a torch because it 'interfered with the winch', according to the previous owner. So, I will need...

    rassd71 1970 Deuce Build

Well, after many months, I've finally taken possession of my Deuce, now the real work can start. My plan is to rebuild and improve what I can to make it mine, then who knows. Ideally I'd like to build a custom rv body onto it, but that's a ways down the road. First I have to get it road...

    Malibu, California-Style Black Deuce

lol, yeah but I LOVE a good thread, regardless of how old it is! And obviously I'm doing my forum 'due diligence' in going through as many threads as I can... BEFORE I start asking a bunch of stupid questions. Now that doesn't mean I won't be asking them, but at least I will have gone through...

    Installing reverse lights

has anyone wired reverse lights to go on automatically when the truck is shifted into reverse? I'm curious because I'd like to register mine as an RV and this is a standard item on a safety inspection. Thanks, Robert aka rassd71

    Malibu, California-Style Black Deuce

I'm going to start by saying I'm NOT a fan of the chrome, BUT, that said, there are some things I DO like about the truck. The lowered rear light bars in the back are nice, although I would again prefer them in a satin black. But one piece I like that MAY inspire me to something similar are...

    Inexpensive camper/utiliy box for m35a2

LOVE your build. Trying to learn as much as I can so I don't ask the same stupid questions every newb does, but really love what you've done, and your choice of audio entertainment while working! Looking forward to more and hopefully asking some 'smarter' questions when I get my build...

    Survival 109 build

GREAT thread on a great build, I'm by no means a purist and from a visibility/safety standpoint, LOVE the additional forward lights & the additional brake & turn indicators. I'm getting ready to start my own m35 camper build. And will indeed start a thread once the truck is actually in my...

    MV security

I know this is an old post, but too would love a basic idea of how this is set up. Basic securing of the truck from mischief is my main concern.

    Best Gear shift knob

I pulled the knob and verified it with a bolt and then a tap to chase the threads, I'll use a die to clean up the ones on the shaft before installing the new knob and share pics... and at least on the 1970 Kaiser Deuce and a half it's a 3/8-24 (fine thread)

    Best Gear shift knob

lol, that may be what I end up having to do. But it's not as practical as asking here, the truck is over an hour away. I could just wait the couple more weeks until I bring her home, but I was hoping there was a standard.

    Best Gear shift knob

I'm finally in the process of buying my first deuce... and I can already see that it won't be the last! Before I've even taken possession of the truck, I went ahead and ordered a custom gear shift knob (actually a gift from my wife), but I need to know the thread size and pitch for the guy...

    Extreme RV from M36a2

amazing thread... amazing build. I have a TON of links and info to go through now. I've been wanting to do this for a few years and will shortly be starting my own build... getting a 70 m35a2 from a fellow SS member. Thank YOU all for the amount of shared information and experience. I'm...

    Ryan's Deuce build

This may be a dumb question... but what are the two shift levers to the left of the gear shift?
